Hello. [Strike]I know that I've not been posting much on this thread lately.[/Strike] It would be - and is! - incorrect to say that I've not been posting much on here. I posted a lot of additional, and amended, information on what I call "the M list" on Tuesday, and indeed I'm doing so again starting from today. However, I've not been posting many new posts so you know what I mean. I have just not been getting any time to do much more than the M list - although that's also actually a good thing as I've been doing the M list and spending time doing other things away from this thread - as you suspect, if I sat down and posted on this thread I'd just spend ages writing out absolutely everything I wanted to say on my posts.

I just have not had time to do much of this and instead been getting on with RL. So, if I'm not here in future, in the sense of not posting new posts, then you know where I am - and in fact I am here but underlying and in the background instead as my absence in my saying anything is said by my presence in the background on the M list changing. I hope people are looking at the M list as items will appear, very silently and with no shouting out about them in any new post and will appear with no attention being drawn to them and then disappear soon afterwards as you've probably missed them. For example the version of Baileys at £10 has been on the list but I reckon you've probably missed that now if you didn't get it before. I just have not had time to post separately about things, as there is so much and I would then simply be posting everything twice. So, on here, I've just dealt with updating the list and not much else of late. It may well continue in this vein so, goodbye!:rotfl:

I did think about posting, but did not get to doing so, on Tuesday this week to say that, by now (in other words, by then!), I must have seen almost every item in M apart from local or regional items that are only sold in parts of the country that I haven't visited (or not visited yet). If you think about it, I would probably have to visit many more stores to see literally every item, including things such as regional and local newspapers that are sold only in parts of the country. Newspapers and magazines are one of the generally excluded areas from my list - mainly because the price is general and will be the same everywhere and I've never seen a need to post a whole list of regional newspaper titles and their prices, which will be whatever their cover price is, as this will not be of general use and will be the local papers you get in your area, plus the national titles at their prices as available (and the national magazines too). So, unless there was a special discount in M on some publication or M started giving them away free with some other item and something special on in M, then I wouldn't really include newspapers/magazines on my list. The other area I don't cover is clothing (I think historically because my list was originally aimed at APG and grocery items but has expanded into many non-grocery areas since, but clothing remains one area that I don't cover - and I don't intend to as it would probably take the whole time of a price collection in a store to get all the details of good clothing items too so would just be impossible and would take twice as long in a store).

So, I thought I'd seen almost everything that M has by now (other than exclusively local or regional products). And how wrong I was:rotfl:. I happened upon a store on Wednesday that has a pound shop and I spent so much time in that aisle, taking the details of a whole range of items far far beyond what I've ever had before. There must have been even more items in that area, that I've never seen in M before, than I have ever had as additional items from new stores before. I spent a significant amount of time way laid in there and basically the majority of the price collection time was spent on that area. The store had a more comprehensive range of "Keep It Handy" items (but I suspect still got a few missing:rotfl:) than I've ever seen before - normally I just have the odd one or two in a store and then an odd one or two at occasional stores elsewhere later - not a whole set of products!

My store on Wednesday had a whole lot. One of them was the three pack Microfibre Cloths that are one of the few items that I have seen before, when they were 48p several months ago and haven't seen them since. So, I'm not sure about the pound shop items, as at least one of them was 48p but seems to have more than doubled in price to £1 in order to go into the "pound shop":rotfl:. There were also a whole set of much larger than 'normal' cleaning trigger bottle products from a brand that I've never seen before - and some items far better price than the more generally available equivalents that seem to be in Ms everywhere. So it seems again that the best offers are confined to fewer customers being able to have them.

I will put all these items onto the list (eventually, by the end of this week), as they are in someone's M and should have been on there all along - unless I suddenly get to my own Ms and find they've opened pound shops:rotfl:. I think I will be adding more items than ever onto the list. I had a store on Monday where I had a whole section of birthday party items in one store - again, never had a store with such a section before (not even those huge stores in Birmingham and Warrington quite big but none of this there) and, after that, I thought I had seen nearly everything but, on Wednesday, the pound shops with new further items, so obviously not:rotfl:!

I may even run out of space for the list:rotfl::rotfl:. When we started this thread, I put two more posts, and then another one, beyond what I thought I would need. I'm already at just one post to spare, which currently has the 'lost' items on it, with the posts for the main list threatening to overflow and more items going to lost that that will need another post soon:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. What I will do is probably move "lost" to another of my posts at the early part of the thread, which may then avoid confusion by not flowing right on from the end of the main list, and that will give me another post for the main list. But for how long before I have too much again...:rotfl:

I'm updating the list, then, from now (having 'reset' it to add the extra items) - again there wasn't much change from Monday to Wednesday except I think the M own label family pies (550g) have gone up from £2 to £3.48 and possibly mbuy but in any event have gone up, the Webbox dog food chubbs have come off mbuy: so are just now their straight price:(, nothing interesting really:rotfl:, there's usually some items that have gone up in price that I would like to mention and draw attention to but can't and instead items just silently disappear from the list.

The Avs M ones do sometimes get "mentioned", in a way, as they appear crossed out, although only if I've done both price collection days to know what changed when, rather than it may already have been off earlier so just completely deleted. However, with "buy in M", I just delete stuff (I can't even post it as such as just no time to do so) and because TBG is also believed to update earlier. Avs M price increases appear, for the next update only, crossed out (or with new M price in bold if M is still, sadly, best), if I have done both Monday and Wednesday collection dates. Beyond those though, you have to be watching the list, and closely, to spot the price increases from items disappearing altogether - or else that indicates that I've having some problem finding out their prices and just got so fed up that I decided the item, whatever it may be (different on different weeks/months), wasn't really that good in the first place so just quietly deleted it:rotfl:. And, of course the numerous items to add from the pound store this time. There, and beyond there, I can't put everything on this post as I would just be writing the item names on here, as I came across them in my sheets of paper, rather than putting them onto the list so it would just take twice as long! So, I will write them onto the list instead:cool:.

on the dark side someone said the gastropub chicken pies took £1.22 off - its now getting quite tempting, the marks meal deal ...

It is very tempting for me having the rose 20% too, and means I could try out one deal rather than having to buy 2 with the frizzante that's in the 2 for £12.

Odd amount £1.22 those chicken and leek pies I'm sure were £7 when I looked yesterday so should have taken off £1.40 don't you think?

thinking about the October challenge which i am not doing but i am following everyones experiences with great interest.

My Oh had a biscuit obsession which is annoying on several levels, mainly because I don't see the attraction :) but also because of the added unnecessary kcalories - that argument i will never win.

whatever shop we go to he heads for the biscuit section so I encourage him to sit in the car and wait for me instead - it all adds up. In Aldi he gets the shortbread biscuits which are 45p so a couple of these a week is nearly £50 a year
    - to me this equates to a night away in a Premier Inn/travelodge/ibis

so as an experiment I made shortbread stars today, divided the mixture in 2 and cling filmed half which is in the fridge and baked the rest, about 6 biscuits, very quick and easy and OH was impressed, biscuits straight from the oven always taste good

So before dinner i can roll out a bit more biscuit mix, make more stars and cook while the oven is on - this way i can limit it to a few biscuits at a time instead of half a packet

and i managed to burn both thumbs taking the tray out, what am i like!

i made it to Marks this afternoon and to the CS desk so i asked about adding sparks points on and the girl went to find a manager who showed her how it is done on the till - she said it was her first ;)

So it looks like Marks are probably not training staff on this so if you have a receipt which has unclaimed points then you might encounter resistance - stand your ground, smile sweetly and be polite, it is on the Marks sparks website :)

Thanks to the OP from yesterday

You get 10 points for a £1 purchase so buying a meal deal for £10 gets you 100 and this unlocks the offers if you have a shiny new card

i was collectng my funnel necked fleece from Marks - it is gorgeous, love it to bits big thanks to the OP
i had to get a size 22  as that was all that was left but it is actually not that big - tried on over 2 t shirts and a cardigan and usually in winter i wear far more layers, even in the house
Ive got a blue fleece i really hate, material is scratchy so thats going into the charity bag pile now

also did a vest collection and these also are fabulous. i think i have an order missing now but i will have a look online incase a cancellation came in unnoticed
what i won't be doing it drawing attention to it by ringing and asking where it is - we have done so well out of these glitches i am not going to rock any boats

thanks again to the OP from yesterday - I was in the bathroom doing the early morning to do list and also catching up with the thread when I saw it and so i literally ran downstairs, unshowered , not a pretty sight and logged onto the marks website as fast as i could, desperate to get an order in :rotfl:
