Random garden update - I've had a message asking to bring landscaper round at weekend. I've agreed to look reasonable, but really wish she just hadn't replied at all so I could have cracked on with a letter before action.

Artificial grass company came round, but like the decking company they just laughed at what had been done and were pretty horrified. Although neither company has given me written quotes yet, going on what they've said its actually going to cost more to put it right than the job cost in the first place. Going to have fun telling her that at the weekend!

I would decide beforehand what you want the outcome of that meeting to be ......and don't settle for less.

Have all your facts at your fingertips LS, be firm and have someone with you if you feel you need support.

You can still press ahead with a letter prior to taking action.

    Good luck:T

Thats terrible, i am sorry you are going through this:(:(

Thanks. I'll be honest, really didn't expect to hear from her at all. She's done herself no favours though, the way she has behaved and spoken, as it's made me go from being nice (too nice) and considerate in relation to their personal circumstances and not wanting to stress them out, to me totally being able to separate that out (which I should have been able to do in the first place but struggled to do) and deal with them simply on a business level.

They've left me feeling hacked off and ripped off, especially now I've had both a decking and an artificial grass company tell me what poor work they've done.

Thanks TM. Definitely need to try and find a friend who is free to come over as don't really want to be on my own. Am assuming business owner will bring landscaper, so that's already 2 against 1, if she brings her wife as well (hope not as she has just had her op but she was tagged somewhere on Facebook yesterday so you never know) that would be 3 against 1. :(

I do feel better for having the facts though and absolutely will not be walked over.
