Nanny, whatever you decide, I'm sure everyone will understand.

I've only arranged a few funerals but I certainly never queried anyone who couldn't attend or had a prior engagement, it is just one of those things.

:) Similar but not noisy used to happen on Portland. The 'special' flag would go up on police station & everyone driving off the island was searched for the escapee - admittedly when I was young it scared me :o

Also when I went to school near Guildford. Just after the Guildford bombings, we were forever getting bomb hoax phone calls - which resulted in a lot of time spent out in the rain as school was searched.
That use to happen in our school. Don't remember ever being out in the rain though luckily. One time it happened just as we were getting showered after PE. Had to stand out there with our towels round us
  • Morning all done my back in a couple of days ago - pulling up my Bridget Jones would you believe. So that meant a few chores were put on hold.

Did manage to get to Ts yesterday where I found £160 rolled up and left in a trolley but being the :A I am I handed it into the CS desk who took my name and mob. Returned home with halo intact to find that my Energy Co wanted to increase my DD - so much for Karma :rotfl:

Still I did receive a lovely call from a grateful lady thanking me - so pleased it got back to her. ;)

Hugs to you ILTS hope you find the strength to get through a difficult journey.

Hope you feel a little bit better Nanna - I am sure your friend will understand if you need to defer your trip.

Enjoy the rest of the day folks xx

My good news today is Mum & Dad have been out in the Berlingo together (plus friend for support) for the first time :T

They went to Midhurst antique market & it makes my heart swell as Dad had an amazingly happy time. His first time out & the stall holders remembering him, buying postcards of Portland (where else?) and being himself again. Not a stroke sufferer in a wheelchair, himself.

    Is it bedtime yet? :o

No sleep again last night so no doubt I'll be cat napping throughout the day

    Good morning Elite :hello:

Grey clouds here but at least it's dry :)

Snap sorry to read you have a raging throat, have you tried not talking for a while :o. Only joking but you know that  :) :rotfl:

Finished reading the James Martin book yesterday afternoon, quite an eye opener

DH collected Charlitte Crosby from the library, Me Me Me. Not sure how I'll get on with that as I think she's very vulgar :o

I've ordered Guy Martins autobiography from library, I love that man. He's so laid back, fearless, and not bad to look at, oh those blue eyes are like magnets

ds3 and his dgf fly out to Florida at lunchtime for 18 days. We've got the dogs here for that time and have to go twice a day to ds3s house, 5 minutes walk away, to feed Max the cat and let him in and out. And the tropical fish  can we keep them alive for 18 days  we've done it for a week at a time before.

There's always Pets at Home if we need them :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Off for catchup, hope everyone well xx
There's no place like home :)

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.

oh bless you Snap....I'm feeling the pride too....your dad has been on a very courageous journey that we've all followed.
I sadly don't have either of my parents any more....but do relate to many of the tales of ageing parents and the challenges both they and their children face as they advance in years, that I read on the thread.
I can so understand you feeling blessed and proud of not only your dad's progress but the endearing togetherness that your parents share.
