Morning Everyone
At DD2's school yesterday the alarm bell sounded for lockdown - all doors, windows shut, computers off and all hiding under desks
Turned out a bus had caught fire at the bus stop just outside the school! Problem was it was 5 minutes before end of school and with four schools very close by the traffic was :eek::eek::eek:0 -

OMG  What time did they manage to get out? What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
I think the all clear sounded after only about 10 minutes but then they all had to wait ages outside school 'cos the parents were stuck in traffic jam.
Still good practice for their lockdown drill and thank goodness that's all it was!0 -
We are within the Broadmoor alarm area, used to be that when we heard it sound the school would be locked and they were not allowed out without a parent actually going to the classroom and grabbing them.
The most annoying thing is that when they return an escapee they sound the all clear, even at 2 o'clock in the morning. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Hearing that alarm go off must be rather unnerving!
I hate hearing the police helicopters flying around - especially at night.0 -

It is a bit, especially as one escapee was caught hiding in a back garden only a couple of miles away once
Also, they test it every Monday at 10 o'clock. I have been caught out once near one of the sirens, needless to say I am never anywhere near the two locations that I frequent that have sirens at that time now. They are LOUD!What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
