Morning
Thanks again for all the messages of support, I think Sunday and Monday were two of the worst days I've had, since nan passed away I haven't really been on my own as I had the funeral to organise then my dad came and stopped for 4 weeks and then my sister 2 and then the children were on summer holidays and with them going back to school it's been a case of realising this is how life is going to be now .
I've always worked very early and late so I could always be about during the day , I don't think I am emotionally ready to start changing my work patterns yet but something to look at in the future .x
Have fun to all those going on holiday , can't wait to hear what Vt and N get up to
Tesco direct are bringing free click and collect back from tomorrow but not sure if it's permanent or for a set timeOne cannot change the past, but one can ruin the present by worrying over the future.0 -
Good morning all....
Well for those that are interested Bella I was very nice last night....the meal was lovely and there was a substitution on 2 of the shot glass desserts .....but the service was soooo slow!
We got there for 6.30 and our drinks order didnt arrive until 7 and our starters not until 7.30...considering we were booked in and on a set menu it seemed a huge amount of time to wait.
Starters were good...the mushroom one far exceeded the garlic bread pizza but that didnt mean we didnt enjoy the garlic bread...and reasonable sized portions too...
Mains were superb....again once they arrived. There was a half hour wait for them but we couldn't fault the quality of the food!
on to the desserts which came out literally as they cleared the mains plates.
The caramel salted chocolate shot was delish...the other 2 just seemed to be cobbled together with a few sauces they had hanging around as basically they said they had not received the other 2 desserts....shame really ....but probably by this time we were full so it wasnt the end of the world.
It then took another 40 mins after our desserts were cleared for the bill to come (for drinks) and I must admit there were several times that we considered just leaving the money for the drinks on the table and leaving but we felt a little uncomfortable doing that without thanking them for the evening!
(the drinks bill was just under £6 for 2 soft drinks)...and coincidentally apart from an initial drinks order we were not offered drinks again throughout the meal.
Waitress was lovely, polite and enthusiastic about the food explaining everything to us,our only niggle was that at no time did she offer an explanation or apology for the waiting time between courses etc.....
so it was a nice evening but very late before we got home...
Well worth signing up to if you are in the right place and time to catch the emailfrugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

How important is the funeral to you? Is it a case of you feel you must attend, or that you want to say goodbye?
You only get one chance to go to a funeral, if that person meant a lot to you you may regret not going.
The dress exhibition only runs until 2nd October. Can you re-book that? I am sure your friend would understand.
I suspect the fact that you are even thinking about this means you would rather go to the exhibition. If it is any comfort, there is no way I could tell you who was at my mother's funeral all those years ago, I couldn't have told you when I was there let alone now. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

The most annoying thing is that when they return an escapee they sound the all clear, even at 2 o'clock in the morning.Similar but not noisy used to happen on Portland. The 'special' flag would go up on police station & everyone driving off the island was searched for the escapee - admittedly when I was young it scared me
Also when I went to school near Guildford. Just after the Guildford bombings, we were forever getting bomb hoax phone calls - which resulted in a lot of time spent out in the rain as school was searched. Our Family Motto ~If all else fails - read the instructions...
