I have to say I've been sent some lovely PM's and emails over the last few days from some very special elite...so thank you all for your very kind words.
I've been so grateful for all the support I've received from everyone on the thread and am amazed that whatever mood I arrive in,someone always has been able to put a smile on my face by the time I sign off.
It is so very true that a problem shared is a problem halved and sometimes it really is comforting to know that there's usually someone who has been through what you are going through and perhaps pass on a nugget of advice.
Thank you all ....you really are a very special and unique bunchfrugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Morning all
Just started raining here and meant to be wet all day. I had a text from the Hotpoint man to say he'll be here between 1 and 4. What's the betting he'll arrive in the 10 minutes I'm at school pick up...
Ankle feeling much better today
I've already been to the post office this morning and then been out and put feed and weed on the lawn ready for it to be watered in by the rain
Jobs for today include ironing (yawn), making a fox mask and medicine bottle for the boys Roald Dahl day next week
and some more Bzz/Orchard reviews... Now it's written down I'll have to do it!
Hugs to 3Dogs on the loss of Millie and those with offspring off to Uni x♥ Worrying does not empty tomorrow of it's troubles.... it empties today of it's strength ♥0 -
Morning mad squad,
A few questions for the cruisers please;
I noticed on the P&O website you're not allowed to take a travel iron, what would happen if I forgot to tell mrs99p and she packed one in her case ?
I noticed on the P&O website that your cases shouldn't be more than 20kg, is this a strict rule ?
We've got one day in Rome and would like to see as much as possible MSE style, what's the best way to do it ?
TIA
We get on the train to Southampton tomorrow and get on the boat on Sunday - Can't wait!I do try to keep up but sometimes life gets in the way.
I'm just a penny short of a pound. Peace and Love.
I've joined the 5:2 club cos mrT made me eat 1p chocolate.0 -
they simply dont want you to use an iron in the rooms. there really is no need to as launderettes are seldom busy and within easy reach of all cabins. to use these irons is free. if you intend to do laundry i would take some powder on with me as its quite expensive.Morning mad squad,

they are not strict on cases, its so the handlers dont get a bad back (elf and safty). so a little over the top wont matter.0 -
Good afternoon Elite.
Hoping everyone is warm, happy and well. Hugs to those not so. I've been MIA for far too long but hopefully will be more on the ball now.
Apologies for any birthdays, significant events, etc. I may have missed - I was truly still thinking of you all.“Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while you could miss it.” ~ Ferris Bueller0 -
So, I haven't actually managed any of the jobs on my to-do list but I have changed all the beds, flipped the mattresses and tidied the kids toys.
Then had a phone call from some bloke telling me I was overdue on my life insurance review...? He was telling me that you have to review every 12-18 months. I was fairly sure he was talking BS as I went through the policy after my lymphoma to see if I needed to do anything and came to the conclusion that I didn't... It threw me a bit that he knew which company I was with, my name and DOB etc. In the end though I started to get upset (don't know why just having a down day
) and told him I didn't want to speak to him any more. I might ring the insurance company direct and speak to them to be sure. Anyone got any advice? It would always have been my Dad that I rang about this stuff and so now I'm having a blub about missing him too
I need a good shake! ♥ Worrying does not empty tomorrow of it's troubles.... it empties today of it's strength ♥0 -

As zippy says, plenty of irons for free on board.
When I did Rome, I hired a man in a car for the day, and he took us from the boat to all the main sights in Rome, then back to the boat, there was only 2 of us and it worked out about the same as a far poorer P&O trip. Not :money: but value for money.
Cases, I would not worry about it, I have never had any issues.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

I'm with you logie - I hate talking to people who ring for stuff like this. It could be genuine, but could also just be someone from a rival company touting for trade. I would ring your insurer when you feel up to it. <Hugs.>“Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while you could miss it.” ~ Ferris Bueller0 -

Thanks pacifica,
I only answered the call as it was a local number. That seems weird now I think about it as it was definitely a big call centre from the background noise and we don't have any locally. He was also cagey about the company name, just saying they worked on behalf of my insurer and a load of others.♥ Worrying does not empty tomorrow of it's troubles.... it empties today of it's strength ♥0 -
