The John Frieda is saying oos but adding to the basket 2 for £10 is it worth having?

Edited to say I've now seen your edit to say 2 for £10, everyone will now think I'm nuts

I would say it's worth £1.25 an item it's full size products.

Well it was sort of me. :o I spotted the expired deal on HUKD as it had sold out online but knew when a travel set glitched before can't remember whether it was Dove or Nivea that it worked in store too so brought it over. :D

You have to thank zippy too as he was the one who tried it first. :A

They are far too quick to expire things over there as it has come back in stock online too a few times. :rotfl:

I was asked for £4.50 for my 6 vaselines today but surprised us both when SA hit pay and total went down to £3. :T There was no indication on SELs that any of it was 342.

Well thank you both! I wasn't looking for it, saw it as I passed by and though 'ah-ha!'. At least it still works :rotfl:

My DS started a course at college this morning, he went off on his bike at 7.30 and text me at 8.10 to say he arrived. He doesnt start until 9am.

Well the last few days I have been saying to him, does he need anything for his course, work boots, trousers, tool bag etc. We end up arguing over it because I think he needs all these things, hes like "no we dont need anything for few weeks as only doing computer stuff".

So he rings me at 4pm, tonight in a panic

"mum, I need workboots, trousers and tool bag and tools for tomorrow, otherwise I cant do it".

Good job I knew that he did, and have it all sorted.

    Kids eh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Thats just typical kids...
I dont really know why I'm stressing so much about buying everything DS needs at uni....its not as if he can't buy it when he's there ...I guess the only difference is he may not look for the bargain before he hands over the family CC....But he will learn.

What's your son doing at college Sarah...boots and tools sounds exciting?

I think it's worth buying just for the look on the SA's face. :D

  • Thanks LEJC I'm just panicking a bit, houses in our university town are like hens teeth. We were the first to view it and only ones I think, when we rang that afternoon EAI'id they'd had 25 calls from people wanting to view it. I'm struggling getting anything done with my fingers crossed. Patience has never been my strong point.

I've ordered 4 jf sets , thank you.

Di I just noticed that JF 7 day in shower treatment says it's £9.99 on it's own.

    I thought 4 was a round number too. ;)

6 with wine of course or maybe 12. :rotfl:

If your my tenant then I get someone to you to at least assess the situation within 24 hours.

A lot will depend on the type of fault and the age of the machine.lots of LL's have service and repair contracts with the manufacturer so it then boils down to how fast they can call out and fix....thats when it can get a little sticky and sometimes the tenant feels things dont move as fast as they could.
My theory is that a washing machine isnt hugely expensive so putting one in is cheaper than some service contracts so we dont go down that route.

both times that I have had problematic washing machines to deal with we were happy that they were well and truly knackered and as such ordered new machines to be delivered from those lovely ao people....so actually my tenants each time were without a machine for I think 5 days but then had a new one.

My actual advice would be to keep chasing it sometimes it's not always the LL's fault because of obtaining parts etc...but sometimes they just need reminding.
I will however say I'm much more lax on our things...last year our washing machine broke down and I was 34 days without it...but thats because we were waiting on a part which when arrived was the wrong one.......on the flip side one of our properties needed a new roof earlier this year and it was on and off in 6 days!

In my mind my tenants pay good rent and hopefully get a good service back but sometimes they may need to roll with it a little longer than they may like....

ETA...it also depends if the tenant deals direct with the LL or has a managed contract with a Letting agent....sometimes going through the LA can add days to a repair or query simply because they will need to contact the LL to find out what they want to do...just because a property is managed doesn't mean that the LA can do as they please they still need to check with the LL most of the time.

    Thanks for that :A
I am the tennant and my washing machine died yesterday. It's through a Letting agent and there's a guy who deals with these kind of things. I did text him yesterday to tell him and to ask him to come and look at it (it's filling up and then doing nothing) and his response was 'OK will do' I did reply asking him to let me know when but I haven't heard anything since. I'm still waiting on him to attach the shower to wall properly after I moved in in February, so I'll not hold my breath.
I just think some kind of message saying I'll aim to be there on whatever day wouldn't go a miss, you know? Typical that my mate is away when this happens and I can't use her machine.
