Yes, Nanny, 6 a.m. is definitely not as light as it was last week.
At least the heating is still unnecessary though. I spent hardly anything on gas last month.
Florida has a hurricane.:eek::eek:.“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -

Morning Bubbs. You can have a lie-in tomorrow, hopefully.
Not sure where HG is on holiday - hope she is OK - I think the north part of Florida is bearing the brunt of it.“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -

morning all
if anyone sees in one of the sales a nice sofa throw suitable for a 2 seater sofa please can you let me know - very cheap
Errant son picked up a bookcase and 2 coffee tables and a sofa from a chap on Freecycle who was leaving the country - yes, isn't that brilliant to get so many bits from one person. The chap had a van hired so he gave him £20 for delivery everything
the sofa is a bland grey colour and he seems to have 3 flat cushions so it needs a bit of cheering up
thanks in advance“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
yes much rejoicing in the house this morning as errant son started messaging about 6.30 - I think I got it into my head he was ignoring us. Maybe he thought we were away for 2 weeks instead of 9 days although we did see him the night before we went away
he is in London today so possibly we are just filling the time gap - eldest child does this, the only time she can fit in a conversation is when she is walking back from work or on the way to netball etc
but at least errant son is talking to us even if its only because he wants something“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

sarahskint wrote: »morning all! someone asked yesterday if I had got my painting done, re - the dulux challenge. YES I did! Everything in dining room was moved back and forth and only went back once cleaned and if not required shed or bin.....2 bin bags later!! found a few bottles of coke from 2014 which I still tried but alas they were very flat! Photos were taken once done and uploaded to dulux, I got an email at 6:30 Tuesday morning to say receipt unclear, so I rescanned it and took a few pics on the camera as it wasn't the clearest of receipts and am happy to say that before lunch I had an email back to say prepaid card on way
Woohoo and bonus is room still tidy!
can we be rude and ask how much?“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
Mhoc, DD does similar with me, phones me for a great long chat while she's driving to or from work (her commute is 45 mins in the car each way) Sometimes I feel like I am the in-car entertainment system. It's a good opportunity for a catch-up but there are at least two areas en route prone to mobile static, so that gets frustrating and I've learned just to hang up fast when it goes crackly - less wear and tear on the nerves!
And of course, I have to be prepared for sudden cut-offs when a more important incoming call appears - Gotta go, Mum, it's work, call you in a bit (and she never does, as presumably she's got home by the end of that.)
I get quite bemused as when we are actually in the same room and could have a good chat with no interruptions, she's usually on her phone to somebody else...“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0
