I am back from my morning in the rented garden....lots chopped back but there still seems to be lots more to do.
I created a reasonably easy blank canvas garden but it seems that neighbours and tenants seem unable/unwilling or lacking in knowledge when it comes to pruning anything ....its not even a huge garden and everytime we have new tenants they all comment on how lovely it is to have a little outside space...then they ignore it!
I've chopped back 6 binliners full of ivy and various bits of vegetation this morning with the help of DS....l live in hope that we can chop it back quicker than it grows but it would be nice to get a set of tenants who actually are green fingered and gardened through the seasons rather than leaving it to just grow wild before moving on.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Has anyone got any recommendations for a tablet or ereader type thing....
DS thinks that most of his uni course books will be supplied electronically and needs something of a reasonable size to access them....he could do it via his phone but longterm the screen might be a little small and he doesn't see the need to go down the Ipad route just for retrieving information.
I am clueless when it comes to electronics so would welcome any suggestions....frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

My last rural rental had clauses in the tenancy agreement covering this - maintaining the garden was a condition. Fortunately I wasn't working then as the garden was 3 lawns plus borders on all three sides of a large semi and while I do like gardening, I grossly underestimated the time it would take in Spring. Ended up out there nearly every day! I contracted the grass cutting out to a teenage lad in the end!“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -

It's been designed as mainly low level maintenance with scatter pots for them to use as required.
On each side there is a fence where one neighbour insists growing an ivy which I liken to japeneese knotweed as it penetrates everything and on the other side there is a standard ivy which grows between ours and the neighbouring property...they dont seem to want to maintain it and even though I'm not sure who it actually belongs to ,it's us that seem to have to keep it in check.
I have considered getting a gardener but in essence there really isnt that much to do on a monthly basis....
It's written into the tenancy agreement that the tenany is responsible for the garden but you do have to make allowances for the season etc ....the tenants that have just departed moved in during winter when everything was not growing and they suddenly seem surprised that stuff grows as the weather improves....I guess you dont really notice something growing when you live with it....its just does!frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

its a pity about the babybel - I thought it looked interesting but then I noticed that it was the variety packs which are full price and not the single variety ones which are on offer
Its possible they may go on offer sometime in the next 2 months ...what to do with excess babybels? chop them up in salads, calorie controlled cheese and biscuits....
but what else?“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
a quick question pretty please.
If the people who live in the forest send you a set of household questions do they still pay the normal remuneration?
It is an eon since I had the last one I cant remember what happens next - have to put a note on the calendar to check the account later in the week.
I've got a small balance but it was not enough to withdraw whenever the last time was
I was only asked one thing and I then got the thank you screen“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
Hmmm, I've been in since before 2pm waiting for Hermes and their most recent update says a delivery attempt was made at 15.28, which is not correct, not even had the radio on or been on the phone....:(“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0

No, that's only the filter questions to see if you are suitable for the paying survey.0
