I have to say I am really grateful to you, you seem to have our bad luck as well as yours (and a whole load of others' as well )

yes we are like a sponge soaking it all up :D

OH who is a total cynic thinks we are being tested - but for what? If so the last 30 years have been one test after another, we are still standing, the house is still standing and the kids are fine so what else is still to be tested

Also before we went away I was getting obsessed with making sure everything was balanced and the karma of the house was correct - yes quite crackers. So I was doing things like making sure I took several bags to foodbank, Oxfam clothes bank, Oxfam book bank, bags and boxes to the charity shop, several things donated via Streetlife, etc etc
    But obviously not enough

Oh dear is HUMAX kaput or will it fix ?

I love mine a lot better than the Sagemcom I had before.

My HUMAX records the full series :j:j:j

When I tried this on Sagemcom it either didn't record or recorded programme on every channel it could find with it on during the day week :eek::eek:

:(:(:( very very dead - I think liquid has been spilled on it - no red light - just dead

It all depends on the LL and how they do reference checks.
One set of our tenants have just moved out and given us as referees to a large letting agent...the questions asked were basic and rather wishy washy....how long have they lived at the property...have any rent payments been split or late...and would we rent to them again....that was it!

There is no set questions it 's just whatever they feel they can get away with asking...and from your point of view if you are being asked the questions my advice is stick to the facts, and be concise.

Although once someone has moved into a property its possibly a little late to be obtaining a reference...Mhoc...I though he moved a while back?
In that case someone may contact you but it seems little "after the event" IMO...and it can be by email post or phone....most of our ref requests are usually received via email as its quicker

good morning all....I'm still around but this week I'm doing LL things getting ready for a property to re rent...so today It's the garden!!!!
The tenants moved out over the weekend and whilst they have left things so so its not as clean and tidy as when they moved in.....they have cleaned, its not dirty but it's also not clean if that makes sense...so this week its my job to make it all sparkle again!

OHs first day back at work today so the house is very quiet - he decided to have a few days off before the hol - very unusual as normally he works right up to the last minute and he even had this Monday off so in total nearly a full 2 weeks off - work will seem like a quite respite for him after the chaos has been going on around here both prior and after the hols

Yesterday - just as the last washing load was done he said his work suit needing washing. As soon as the machine started up I was hearing a weird metallic noise - even from the living room. So erring on the side of caution I stopped the machine - our machine will open after a few minutes even if full of water

I groped around in the machine - it does not bare thinking about the biological germ soup that was in that water - and found OHs penknife he had forgotten was in his inside pocket
A good thing I'd not put the machine on and gone out or put it on the timer overnight - goodness knows what damage a metal penknife could do to a washing machine

A near miss there, then, lucky you became aware of it. It could have wreaked havoc.

DD had two tiny lego men blocking the secondary filter in the tumbler a few weeks back and that stopped everything drying even though it still tumbled.

Sorry you came back to a disaster with the fridge freezer etc. x

on the good news front I've just had the emails from shopimumms and they have paid my claims into my paypal account. I bought 2 of the Harrogate sausage packs from Morribobs yesterday plus another 2 for OHs account - his goes into the bank so it takes longer to get paid out.
so four lots of £1.47 :j ie two packs for 6p

(morribobs offer may not be live anymore, not checked today)

so in my totally empty freezer now apart from the chocolate OH rescued is one pork chop we found with a yellow label and 4 packs of sausages :D

On the minus side another letter from TSB to say their easy saver account rates will be dropping in November. I am wondering if they will also be dropping the rate of the monthly saver so I checked the website and there is no indication yet. My TSB monthly saver reaches its anniversary date later this week so I will figure it out then.
