    A Minicab isn't a Taxi.

Never has been and never will be in London.

Outside of London where the requirements to become a Hackney Carraige are more in line with Private Hire or Minicab requirements here may be some blurring of the distinction.

But that is irrelevant in this thread as it is specifically about London, making what happens outside London of no value to this discussion.

So in London can you walk into a mini cab office and be taken to your destination?

Not into a "Taxi" office no. Have never actually seen a "Taxi" office in London unless they were illegally using Taxi instead of Minicab. I don't think Hailo, Gett, Radio Taxis or ComCab allow walk ups their offices are more like call centres now.

    Into a "Minicab" office yes.

You never mentioned a Minicab office, only a Taxi office.

Someone needs an eye test, you even quoted the part you say was never mentioned.

Except that you said this earlier in the thread.

Or do you forget saying that?

No at all, but I asked a specific question and amended taxi office to mini cab office solely for the sake of your pedantry. Most would call a mini cab a taxi.

It was your error quoting the post mentioning mini cab and stating I had never mentioned it when clearly I had. :D

Otherwise the driver uses an app or simply his odometer (or possibly plucks a figure from his head as LeeUK suggests!)

All drivers that are driving for the same private hire company all use the same meters/devices/apps. It wouldn't be very good if you got one driver one day and got charged X then did the same journey the next day with a different driver and got charged Y because he plucked the price out of his head.

So you stated that you can take a Minicab or Private Hire vehicle from a "Taxi" office in London but I'm wrong?

    Lol

    You are delusional.

You can't admit you were wrong and clearly thought nobody would pick up on your error.

The reason I have quoted your later posts is because I was replying to them.

Not to complicated for you ??

    It happens.

Yes 10 or 20p difference depending on which way they drive, not £££ difference because they thought up a price on the whim.

Shame you replied to the wrong post then.
