Hi all
Not posted for a few weeks but kept up with all the posts and done quite well with flying over the summer.
I'm in the 'refreshers' club with you waiting eagerly for news of the new flybaby.
All those of you with stroppy teenagers this week please please give them a hug & a kiss today. No, I haven't gone raving mad - I have just taken DS (14) to his friends funeral this afternoon. She was 13 years old and just died in her sleep 2 weeks ago. I thought my heart would break as I watched the white horsedrawn carraige carrying a way too small looking white coffin. Please, please, put all your differences aside and give them a big hug & kiss.
They still don't know why she died - went to bed in fine spirits and never woke up.
Sorry for bringing sad news, but it just makes you think when you are at the end of your tether with your own kids.
Anyway - looking forward to news of Jill's baby to bring light back into the world.Start by doing what's necessary, then what's possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.0 -

He & his mates are all shell shocked. They think they're invincible. His best friend is her cousin & he's being a pallbearer. I can't imagine how you cope with carrying a coffin at 14 - not sure I agree with it really but it's up to the family. She had a bit of a thing for my DS & the day of the night she died she must have phoned our house for him at least 6 times in an hour and was always popping round to see if he was in. He wasn't interested in a relationship but socialised quite a lot with her & is really quite upset ( well as much as a 14yr old boy lets on). I always check on my 7 yr old DD in the night but never on DS or DD (17) - but I have done since this happened. I have found that he rings home loads at the moment if he's out and keeps ringing my mobile when I'm out so it has obviously affected him.Start by doing what's necessary, then what's possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.0

Piggybankrupt totally agree with what you've said, its something brought home to me by losing people and yesterday for the smallest second I got annoyed my DS (11mths) wanted to sunggle and fall asleep laid on me because it meant I could get nothing done and then thought how much I should cherish moments like that. It was lovely to cuddle him as hes hardly ever still. I can't imagne what her family is going through, hope your DS is okay.
Well, nothing to say really, just come home to put DS to bed - still grumpy and not quite right, sure its more teeth - and let dogs out. Going back to my mums later for tea and taking cousin shopping for an outfit for BIL's 30th surprise party. Done a few bits, DW empited, WM finished and pegged out, recycling out, kitchen S&S. Might go and wipe kitchen floor as its a bit grim and need to patch in top floor tv.
Right, will do a 30mins challenge I think and then DS should be thinking about waking up. XxLightbulb moment 15th Feb 2007:doh: Now Debt Free and plan on it staying that way!
Baby on board!:D0 -
Good news
she will take it off the market if we sign a 12 month contract. Bad news I am waiting for a call to confirm what the rent will be unfurnished to see if we can afford what it'll cost us extra compared to this house
so could come down to money. We looked at it this morning and I LOVE IT! Especially the bath and the dishwasher!!!!!!!
Call should be in next 10 minutes when I find out if we can afford it.
Piggybankrupt sorry to hear about the funeral & your son loosing his friend, I lost my best friend when I was 13 and it was heartbreaking. One day I might be more organised...........

Hope you manage to get the house you want lil-me.
It must have been tough to lose a best friend at 13 - I think girls get really close at that age - I know I saw a lot in school uniform at the funeral today - they looked devastated.
Can my DD1 be the youngest official flylady at 17?. She really got into flying over the summer & has even tidied all the bathroom airing cupboard out - it now looks like it's been 'Anthea'd' with suitably folded towels - and I won't need to buy any toiletries for months with the amount she unearthed -lol.
She appears to be having a love affair with panscrubs & stardrops:rotfl: .
Trouble is she's back at 6th form now so I've lost my partner in [STRIKE]grime[/STRIKE] crime. I don't need pigpen weilding duster of power when I've got her nagging me on which cupboard she thinks should be next:rotfl:Start by doing what's necessary, then what's possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.0 -

(Aswell as Jill's happy news we can afford the house, be tight as it's £35 a week more than we're paying, but I know we can, mainly thanks to what I have learned from this site! So going to fill in some forms tomorrow and just hope landlady accepts us as tenants)
One day I might be more organised...........
