does anyone know if you can now take laptops onto the plane as hand luggage again? i'd like to take mine away but there's no way i'm putting it in the hold!
Rach,
you're fine to take laptops as hand luggage (at least you were two months ago). The only thing you have to do is take it out of whatever bag it's in and put it through the x-ray scanner separately. (Oh and in Germany they sometimes make you switch it on to prove it's real?!?)
Have a great holiday,

Morning lovelies!
Shell what a little darling, and don't they always look so cute in their little uniforms.
pigpen what a nightmare time you're having with him, here have some beer
Nicki glad your hands are a bit better.
No news on the baby front then, I'm out most of the day today so will have to check back in later.
list time
No flylady (again) unless I get time later on..
S&S kitchen
load DW
hoover through
WM x 2 (1 in)
pre-prepare tea
Then mammoth list round at OH's, but this is all I'm doing today.
Sand the plaster down ready for painting
paint the kitchen walls
passage
and bathroom.
general tidy up
Just waiting for the load of washing to finish then I'm gonna stick it on the line, then get my backside round there.
Laters x0 -
lost my post, floating in cyberspace, oh well...
shell: your dd looks so cute, hard to believe she can give you such a hard time
pigpen: Is your DDs friend ok after the stabbing? what an ordeal, you and him must be in a right state. And you all worried and him being horrible to you, motherhood sure isn't easy, is it?
My DD1 threw a tantrum last night because I bought the wrong sanitary towels for her, without wings!!! And did I know what it was like to feel insecure at school, thinking you might leak all day!! (Yes, dear, I was 13 once and have had my periods for 30 years () now, give or take a few years for pregnancies) so needless to say: I ran out of the house and drove to 24 hour Tesco for towels with wings.... I love her dearly..
Anyway today I must:
hoover
clear kitchen
collect washing and put in machine
put breadmaker on
put slowcooker on (chili con carne)
bathroom (otherwise pigpen will be after me)
Check regularly for news of Jill's flybaby
toodeloo for now0 -
I am taking the plunge! I am back on a full list as of today, plus extras and dailies if I feel up to it.
Sorry to hear about DS pigpen, boys are the pits. My friend's 12 year old ran up a bill of £300 last month ringing phone sex lines. She got the bill on her first day back from a holiday. I can't repeat her exact words as the police might pick me up for being too rude.
Lil_me, keep on going mrs, the right house will come along just when you've given up. We're doing the same at the moment. Trying to swap to a three bed council house in this area or nearer my mum. Ex moved out 3 and a half years ago, but still hasn't signed off the tenancy, so we can't get a bigger house until he does. If he doesn't sign it under his own steam, I have to take him to court, but we just can't afford to. I used to think he was just too lazy to go and sign, but I'm starting to think that he enjoys having a hold over me now. What a poo-head.
Jill, we're with you in sprit chick, keep on pushing. :j
Shell, she looks an absolute sweetie, but then so does mine. Last week he threw a rock at DH because he was in a strop, then hit him with a stick and when I pickes him up to carry him home, he pulled my hair until my eyes watered. He also tried to pull over his sister's pushchair (with her in it) and trashed his room while he was in time out. I'm really starting to think it may be time to see a family therapist or something. How is it possible to love someone so much and yet like them so little?
Sorry, I had loads of other people to leave messages for, but I can hear the baby sucking her fists in the pushchair, so it's time to be off. Let's see if she likes flying as much as I do. And awaaaaaaaaaaay we go!

Shell: I love that wee girl in her uniform!! SOO cute!
They can introduce school uniforms here in Holland in a heartbeat I'll tell you!
I have now officially taken the day off from work. My little squirt is not feeling well and I've taken it as a great excuse to have the day off! She's just a bit clingy and red cheeks.. bit of a temp, but nothing major. Just didn't want to drop her at the babysitter like this.
Sooo I've got loads of time all of a sudden!
Think I'll start with a cuppa.
Waiting for news on Jill's baby!.. the suspense is killing me!
Becca
(oh and day 10 of no smoking... really chuffed!)0 -
Becca.. well done... you're doing really well.. I'm most proud!!
And no DS! is still being a twerp this morning. He kicked and broke 2 of our 120 year old stair spindles so hubby was up until 2am fixing those!!! We haven't heard how his friend is.. and to be frank I really don't care I've never met him and I am still so angry with DS1 I can't get past that yet. I am bothered a kid of 17 would be stabbed in a crowded city centre and noone see anything but. well.. you know.. I'm not a complete heartless cow.. selfish as it sounds I'm glad it wasn't my boy. He said I've always hated him and jumped on hubby's bandwagon of accusing me of seeing someone else!!! Obviously hubby has poisoned the childrens minds as well.. maybe I should leave them all to it and go. Maralum.. he has done the phone bill twice!!!!! Too stupid to learn the first time!! DD1 off to pm session at school today 1.15 till 3 so will set ironing board up in garden so DD2 can play in their playshed. I need to do at least an hours worth to make a dent. Have decided to leave DH work shirts (may do him one for tomorrow) and then he can do them over the weekend;) .
I have also phoned local RSPCA as they have a few dogs that they state are suitable for young children so hoping they are still there on Saturday so DH and kiddles can have a look while I am at work. There are a couple of cocker spaniels (5 years old) and a couple of jack russells (1 x 1year and 1 x 5 years). Not getting hopes up though as I bet they are gone by saturday (which is obviously good for the dogs).
Jill - am sat waiting to hear. Hope everything is ok and that she is not still in labour:eek: .
Right lets see how many crumbs the littles have created!

Between school runs, when I'm not loading appliances, feeding tiddles and her actually not being awake and stuck to my leg.. shopping, feeding myself, making cuppas and sweeping you lot into touch... Does that leave time for anything? Most days I struggle to manage to shower!!!!! I'm quite certain one cannot do one or the other!!! lol
Maybe I should list it as an 'extra' on my flylist.. or better still.. a 'daily'... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I find it a little difficult to pick anyone up when I never go out without a chaperone under 4ft tall or my mother!!!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Morning, well now afternoon all!
Rach – I’ve taken my laptop on a plane, but you can’t use during take off and landing.
Shell2001 – your jiggy list item made me laugh! :rotfl:
Didn’t get a chance to get online yesterday as really busy at work. However, last night I went home and still managed to batch cook a ‘healthy’ recipe from the ‘You Are What You Eat Cookbook’. It contained pulses so I had to soak and then cook those before adding loads of veg. At one point it told you to ‘boil’ but no liquid had been added! It was rubbish so I added a tin of tomatoes and some curry powder and managed to create a curry out of the vegetable mess, much better! I would never throw anything away!
Then I did a load of washing and ironed it all straight away, go on…do say you are proud of meI didn’t finish ironing until quarter to midnight!
Still not sure about what to do with the flat I stay at during the week. I’m in the smoke Mon-Thur staying with a friend who I give some cash to let me sleep on her sofa-bed in the lounge. But the place is dirty and needs a clean, which I don’t mind doing but at the same time don’t have time! I thought I might just tackle a little bit at a time; such as cleaning the sink and washing-up bowl yesterday…but it doesn’t shine yet
Slept in this morning, made lunch and then walked to work. Lots to do today, mostly admin so won’t bore you with the list….but actually I might if that’s ok as it will keep me motivated:

Day: as much as can NOT MUCH, NOW REALLY BEHIND WITH HOURS
Other: C DONE / RW DONE / AN NOPE, AGAIN!
STUDY/CPD

FLYING
Shopping: write toiletries list, find nearest Superdrug and shop for stuff!
Pack for weekend away
Oh dear, list is looking rubbish
Tonight I’m attending a lecture, then meeting some friends down the pub. I recon I need a night off so no flying for me really tonight!
I’m enjoying reading about everyone else’s flying, I wish I could join in properly but with working away from home most of the week it’s very difficult! Also I’ve just said yes to some weekend work so between now and the end of October I’m only going to have 3 days off!!!!! Help!!
Oh and I’m in Cardiff this weekend helping out at a family FREE fun event in the city centre. Let me know if you want details! I don’t like to advertise or anything coz that’s against the rules.
