I know what you mean about the 30 hours funding! Our son was 3 in May so we became eligible from September, we've gone from paying £850 a month to £470! Such a difference

I've been a good girl and increased the direct debit to the credit card with some of the excess money x
  • It really is a great help and really makes working feel worthwhile where as when we were paying £700 a month it's seems so pointless earning maybe £10-20 a day after childcare bills when I'd rather be at home with my boys. I wish they'd do it maybe 20 hour from 1 years old though if it's to help mum's get back to work this would help me more as I couldn't afford to give up my career and start over if that makes sense. • Morning,

My no more food shopping went out the window. £60 in Aldi yesterday £20 on formula and wipes but the rest was bits and bobs for my new vegan diet. Day 4 here now and I'm really enjoying it and still freaked out by milk, cheese etc which is good. I just panicked I had nothing in to eat so did some research and grabbed some bits but did buy too much to be fair. Oops

Also £30 diesel put in the car. I will take this from my pocket money fund.

Trip to the park yesterday no spends here as our friend brought along a pack of donuts for the kids to have for pudding.

Lazy day at home today. I love lazy Sundays followed by some kind of gravy based dinner when DP gets home around half 5.

£20 spent on a gro clock for ds1 were trying to get him to sleep later than 5.30-6 hope it works. The baby gets up at 8-8.30 everyday. Can you imagine! DS 1 has always had us up at the crack of dawn. Me and DP aren't really morning people.

  • I love Christmas too! Now it's September can start speaking about it! Well...not to the majority but for the Christmas lovers out there. I just love winter, getting all cosy, heating on and candles lit.

I don't however have any Christmas savings so shouldn't get too excited!

Good luck with going vegan, I'd like to try a few more meat free meals but never know what to make apart from veg chilli and pasta...any good recipes you try please share :) xx

  • Afternoon, sorry I've been awol busy week I worked 5 days last week as had to renew a first aid course. Payday has been and gone and all distributed and now feel poor again. No spends really brought DP a drinks bottle for work and a £2 house plant. Pushing the boat out here!!

So heard back from help to buy and my earnings are a little short to get the equity loan alone. They won't class child maintenance as income which the broker thought I could. So plan b DP is on a mission to get his step dad to et their house on the market. He doesn't like there anymore so it shouldn't be a problem only he is stubborn and selfish and keeps saying it's an investment for them both!!! He is paying interest only so there is no equity in the house. He has made late payments for about a year two years ago screwing up DP's credit score and by owning a property already we would have a stamp duty bill of around £10,000 as DP would be classed as an investor! I'm so sick of all this nonsense now and have told DP it needs to come to a close. We both work hard to provide for the children it's not fare this man is holding him hostage and ruining all our hard work! Grrr sorry rant over.

Lazy day in with boys today after a busy week for us all. X

  • Spent £37 last night on clothes from Tesco. I literally wear the same pair of jeans as it's the only ones that fit properly so ordered some black jeans and a couple of tshirts in the sale and a jumper. Money will come from my pocket money so I'll just have to extra tight this morning this month with days out.

Feeling meh today so arranged to meet my dad at the woods after picking ds1 up from school at 1. They boys are just driving me mad at the moment. Ds2's just tries to play with ds1 and or just doesn't work ds1 gets annoyed and then it always ends in tears. My mission tomorrow is move some of his favourite toys up to his room and start getting him playing alone even if it's just for 5 mins at a time. It'll be progress and give the baby some free roam.

NSD today sent DP to Aldi on the way home as we need formula and wipes and I knew if I went it wouldn't just be formula and wipes.

Best stop ignoring the kids and get them bathed. X

  • Quick pop in I need to stay focused money wise. Day at home today so it should be a NSD.....I was just browsing Christmas presents so came on here instead!

Day off with DP tomorrow thinking maybe swimming and lunch at the leicure centre after. Then I've got bits to make pizzas for dinner.

My electricity fixed rate ended and the cheapest I can get is £37 more a month wahhhh!

Think that's all for now. Best go entertain ds1 while ds2's naps. X
