  • Ah congratulations Laura Cora xxx

Oh my days has it nearly been a month since I checked in. I forgot my password and only just got around to resetting it.

Nothing major to report. Still plodding along. Going to enjoy Christmas then attempt to get a mortgage in principle. Eeek!

Presents all wrapped and sorted bar a couple of little bit the Tesco man is bringing with my food shop this afternoon. X

  • Right that's Christmas done!

    Time to buy a house!!!

We have 16 days until dp'a credit file updates then hopefully it'll register he's paid off his mortgage and we can get a mortgage in principle. Alothought thibiing we could probably get the principle but sorted now as long as it's clears and update for the actual mortgage. So we need to decide who to go with.

Right move app set for alerts in our desired area. Thinking lots of people will start listing now Christmas is over.

Purse stings are being pulled shut again now Christmas is done. I told DP we will have a take away ban until we buy a house!

We are not allowed to go into our overdrafts. Sometimes I cut things a bit too tight and put to much in savings.

Meal planning and only buying what I need. I have a cupboard of cleaning products to use up so no more buying those until I've ran out!

I need to use my diary more to keep things on track!

So I'll be back soon. X

  • Good luck with the house buying. Saving as much as possible is a good move. House buying is expensive. Do you have a help to buy isa?

  • Hi enthusiastic saver yes £12300 in my help to buy ISA not sure if I'll qualify tho as my partner isn't a first time buyer? Do you know if I will? Also is there a way to check how much you qualify for? Some money has been put in in larger chunks so I'm a bit confused as to how much I'll get.

    Thanks :0)

    Hello, you sound so determined.

Why don’t you move your diary over to the proper diary board. That way you will get loads more support and people to spur you on.
  • Oh is this not the proper board? Can I just move the whole thing or will I have to start afresh?

Quiet day in with the boys today. DP has just headed off to work after a lovely three days off together. Back to reality and sorting washing etc. My mum always comes for dinner and bedtime on a Thursday as DP works late so I'm going to make a slow cooker stew and use up all the extra veg I have going out of date from Christmas dinner. I also need to meal plan and make a small list to pick up after work tomorrow. X

  • Morning diary,

Work yesterday.....I popped to get a new calendar for 2018 on my break but then after work got an urge to go spend spend spend! Working in town is so hard! I spent £2 in the end on a pair of children's scissors and a little excercation kit for ds1. At work again today so I may leave my purse at home I just get so tempted to shop or go out and buy food on my break even tho I get free food at work. I'd got quiet good at not spending before or after work but I think with all the popping for this or that for Christmas I've got into bad habits. Also I keep just browsing online sales etc! I want to buy a house not little bits and bobs!!! NSD today I promise!

Dp's work has picked up so that's a relief after three quiet months. One more low pay day at the end of jan and then Feb should be a lot better.

We really need to choose a broker and get the ball rolling on that but we get two days off together a month and these rare Sunday. Could really do with finding one we can deal with on the phone/email but not sure I feel comfortable with this. I may post on a mortgage board for advice on this.

Right best get sorted ready for work....and my nsd x
