Advice for fighting Indigo parking! (bylaw 14 letters)

13

Comments

  • I appealed to Indigo and even though I had paid for my ticket, the ticket expired before I had even bought it, it said it was paid by a token. Once I received Indigo's decision which said I had to pay and did not address the points I had raised, i.e. checking CCTV and the fact that I did have a ticket. I resonded immediately but have not heard anything else from them. What should I do, as I do not want to end up in court.

    Please help

Read the newbies FAQ sticky - all explained there. Do not post on someone else's thread as advice gets confused!

I suggest you start your own thread rather than resurrecting someone else's - which may not end up being that relevant.

Did the PCN specifically mention Railway Byelaws?
    Dates?
What did the car park signage say?
Can you explain what you mean by saying "the ticket expired before I had even bought it, it said it was paid by a token."?
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com
  • Thanks but I already posted my thread but never got any answers and my case is not like anyone else's as I paid and had a ticket even though it was no good.

I did cheque the newbies stuff but didn't find it any help. I have used other forums but never one quite so complicated as this one. I am only asking for some help. And why when I made my own post do I keep getting answers to this one?
  • Hi HO87

It did say Bylaw 14. I paid for my ticket and the ticket that came out was not the usual type but it stated the expiry time was 14.29 (on 23rd June, the date I purchased it) and it quoted token on it. The staff at the railway station had never seen such a ticket before (I checked the following day) but offered no other help.

    Thanks for responding

No other thread in your name on this forum. Did you use a different user name?

Try and find it and post there, that will bring it to the top of the forum.

Why do you think your case is 'complicated'? We've seen any number of complicated threads, and at face value, yours doesn't seem like one.

  • You are quite right Umkomaas, I can't find it either! But I promise you I did!

I certainly didn't see anyone else say they had got a ticket out of the machine that said it had been paid for by a token or that it had expired before it came out of the machine.

Mine feels complicated because I don't know what to do in this case, I did appeal but they just gave a blanketed response saying I had to pay and I would like to know what I am expected to do now.

    Thanks for listening.

Don't make the mistake of thinking you are any kind of special case when it comes to private parking tickets. You really are in the same boat as everyone else as your individual situation means next to nothing to these guys and appeals based on "my situation" will near-inevitably fail.

Get back on to your own thread and read the Newbies Sticky for now. Advice will follow in its own time.

Hijacking other peoples threads is something you clearly agreed not to do as part of your signup.
