I am the official company representative of Talk Talk. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. I moved to TalkTalk back in January. The offer included Talk2go (which essentially allows you to use your landline over the internet from your mobile - calls are charged to your landline).
Talk2go has not worked at all since I signed up.
I wrote a letter to TalkTalk including a screenshot of the offer in February pointing out that not only did Talk2go not work, but also that a reading of their forums had indicated that new registration had not been possible for some time. ie Talk2go was not working despite being advertised as part of the package I bought.
TalkTalk replied that they were working hard to fix the problem etc.
Talk2go still does not work. Are TalkTalk in material breach of contract and therefore can I leave without penalty?

No is the basic answer you need to go through the official complaints route .Write a letter pointing out what you where sold and ask to be released from your contract without penalty.
Its a no due to the fact if you just stop paying they will send the debt to a recovery firm and trash your credit record for 6 years .0 -
Hi Wiredcharlie
If you contact us on twitter (@TalkTalkCare) or via our community pages on our website we can certainly look into this for you.

Hi All,
I'm hoping you can help.
I'm with TalkTalk and have had great service and am now moving home.
Problem - TalkTalk can only offer half of the amount of internet mb that I'm receiving now at my new home, and want £342 for me to cancel, which honestly, I can't afford.
I don't feel that it's right or fair that I'd be paying the same for half the service and am frustrated they are unwilling to budge, especially as I've sang their praises for the 2 1/2 years we've been with them.
Absolutely stuck - please help!!

Yours must be one of the most common questions on this forum. If you read through some on these http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/search.php?searchid=168133471 you will find the answer that you do not want to see.
Unfortunately you agreed to a contract and your ISP is going to hold you to it. It's not just Talk Talk, most of them do it.
Have you checked the broadband speed you can get at your new house with other ISP's and asked TalkTalk if they can upgrade you without charge?0 -
Can any other company provide a better service? If it's normal adsl they'll all provide about the same.0

Yep, what these guys have said, unfortunately but try this:
https://www.samknows.com/broadband/broadband_checker
You can also contact other providers and see what they can offer. Most of them have a facility on their websites to check the speeds available for a particular address.
Apart from V1rg1n, and then, only in some cases, they all use the same technology, the only difference is the price and who you pay your bill to, just like gas and electricity providers all use the same pipes. Only 10% of their customers have to receive the advertised speeds for them to be able to say "up to nnMbps", a fact often lamented by Mr. Lewis. It's not fair, but it is so.

Hi Vicky
Looked at Twitter. I think you use that as a ploy to close down uncomfortable threads on this forum.
Vicky, if you really do have anything to say apart from "we're working hard to" etc etc....
... please post it below in this forum.
I won't hold my breath.
