MrsMW wrote:I always get gammon joints and bacon from Lidl. The dry cure bacon is lovely, none of that horrible white stuff when you cook it, can't remember how much it is but it's very cheap compared to "posh" supermarkets. Gammon joints cost about £4 but do us for at least 3 meals and I've never had a salty one.
OOOOh Mrs must agree on Lidl's gammon joints and in my one they've been on offer at £2.99 for weeks now! And the dry cure bacon too.
Am getting to like their chocolate too, their seafood sauce is good thier mini jaffa ckes are nicer than McVities! I used to turn my nose up at Lidl saying I won't buy that rubbish but I am getting a staunch convert and Tesco loses out weekly now.
Anyone who hasn't tried Lidl products, give them a go, not all but lots are great quality.Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

Lidl do a great Shiraz Cabernet for £2.99 a bottle.... tried one just to see and it's great, went back for more!
Lidl's also do kitchen wipes, I know I know they are a waste of money to some but they are one of those "must haves" for me. £1.60ish a pack you get double the amount compaired to elsewhere and they are big full sized wipes. When I lived ooop norf I used to shop in Lidl regularly, having been introduced to it by a mate (she had 10 horses to my 2 so was always skint!) and I loved all their products, particularly their cheese 'n' onion pasties at around 30p each, which were much nicer than Ginsters at over £1
Lidl's also do a money back guarantee (or they did) if you didn't like any of their products too :j
Not sure where the nearest one is here but there's a Netto about 8 miles away which I used to go to when I could. My only beef about these types of places though is the way they fastrack you through the checkout, which can be a little daunting to someone with anxiety problems, and has put me off going in there again even on a "good" day. (I have been known to walk out the store during checkout due to a panic attack coming on while trying to pack the shopping)

I've just bought Asda own brand washing up liquid with the standard scent and it's lovely, much nicer than all those kumquat and avocado flavoured washing up liquids.
I'm very picky about hair conditioner and I like Tesco Value brand, works well and has a pleasant scent.
If you can find it, Tesco has a cheap-ish range of wines for about £3 a bottle and the Gerwurtztraminer was just as good as the ones costing £5 a pop.0 -
Q_C they are suerfast in Lidl's but I've found them all to be very nice next time you go ask them to go just alittle slower for you then chuck everything into the trolleyWomen and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

hmmm, well, I bought sponge scourers from 'savers' the other day. 10 for 30odd pence. They are great - as good as any branded or supermarket equivalents. I would recommend them.
I got a beautiful bottle of lavendar bubble bath as a present ages ago and have used it all. I pour a very cheap lavender supermarket bubble bath into the empty bottle. I used tescos last time and then sainsbury's - both were from the cheap value range and they are gorgeous. Nicer smelling than the original i thinkIt also means I don't have to scrimp on bubbles!
I use the basic value tinned tomatoes for casseroles/chilli/spag bol etc, but own brand for pasta sauces and pizza toppings.
likewise, cheap value beans for in casseroles and sauces, but heinz when eating them 'on their own'r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0
