When I heard of the bonuses the RM monopoly had decided to award themselves at all our expense I sent the following e-mail to Allan Leighton.

No reply as yet, will post it if I get one. (Might turn up anytime between 8 and 4, or probably not arrive at all!!)

    Dear Mr Leighton

I am delighted that you see it fit to reward your staff with bonuses including over £1 million for Mr Crozier.

If you have achieved such a 'fantastic turnaround' and made such profits, can you please explain the following:-
Why several local Post Offices have closed?
Why my post might arrive any time between 8am and 3pm?
Why the cost of postage has risen again recently?

A little while back, my regular postman told me he was getting put elsewhere because someone else "got in first" for our round, since they changed all the rules, about "rounds" or something. and ever since then i have had problems.
no mail delivered for days, mail delivered as late as 1.30pm, but today just topped it off.
i arrived home after taking my daughter to school to find my post propped up against the front door!! (i live in flats, so absolutely anyone could have walked by and helped themselves!)
was it too big to go through the letterbox? no! just regular sized post: my bank statement, an envelope containing £40 of vouchers and a little bit of junk mail. I was absolutely fuming, to think that anyone could have got hold of my bank statement. I have reported it via the rm website and have had a receipt for it, but no resolution as yet.

I am writing to acknowledge your email to Allan today and of Tuesday. He is
currently travelling and has asked me to respond on his behalf. I am
gathering the relevant information and will get back to you by the end of
    tomorrow.

In the meantime thank you for your patience.

Thats great, At least we know we can get an acknowledgement :T Maybe we should forget about the Royal Mail website complaint procedure and just bombard the man at the top and he may even actually earn some of his bonus! Thanks for letting us know, I will look foward to the reply :D

If anyone else wants to e-mail Mr Leighton with any comments you can find his e-mail address it's on this website, along with many other useful addresses for other CEO's and Chairman.

This worked for me when I had a problem with BT Mobile. No-one responded to a complaint but when I e-mailed the BT Chief Exec it eventually got settled and I got a cheque for £180. Its worth being persistent!!

    Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Just hearing on the news how much profit Royal Mail have made this year and their claim of meeting delivery targets, Where, in outta Mongolia? I have had nothing but a sucession of temporary posties(some of whom are not even wearing any form of royal mail uniform) Who constantly post letters for any street with a number the same as mine within a mile. Big difference between Lane and Hill Road including postcode. I have had to go into my building society to confirm my address as my statement was delivered elsewhere and sent back, I have had credit card statements not arrive and then been charged late fees because of this(sorted out after) but still with the aggro of having to deal with it. There are two letterboxes on my front door for two different properties and all the post normally get shoved in one box. Which is no good to me when the tenant downstairs only comes home once a week. Complaints are meet with "your delivery has been supervised and we have not found a problem" crap. I have even thought of picking up my post but there is still no reason to believe that my post will be sorted properly in the first place and will not be sent elsewhere. How dare Royal Mail say they are meeting targets, I bet the Director gets his post first thing and not at 4 in the afternoon. Anyone else had problems or is it just me? Anyone got any answers, I give up

try sending an email to their chief executive Adam Crozier and perhaps if enough people complain he will do something about it: adam dot crozier at royalmail dot com
