Likewise bubbles..I do not understand it myself....I just wish everyone could get along but like you say...'hey ho' that is the way of the world...I try to understand why people get so upperty about things...Personally I do not like the word Elite...we are all equals in my opion...we are all made of flesh and blood.... but if it is to stay then that's OK...Someone originally started the ball rolling on this thread.....and it is not for me to say what goes or what doesn't...I just enjoy the chat and a bit of banter...I hope that mine does not upset anyone and it is certainly not meant to offend anyone in the slightest and I would like to think that it is taken that way...

My son is ok thankyou although he has been feeling under the weather this past week....probably due being in Africa...He was bitten a lot whilst there....Mosquitos..had to take the Malaria tablets daily too....Seems better today though.....Thank you for asking...Unfortunately not had too much time to spend with him due to work commitments..

Hoping that you are well and enjoying life..:p

    My thoughts exactly :T:T
When we went to India the daily malaria tablets made us feel rubbish, but you now get weekly ones, we took them the last twice we went and didnt have any side effects:T the first year we went i had about 90:eek::eek: yes 90! bites on my legs

They are Ssda shades quilted and are scanning at £2.50 for 16 rolls. in the store I went in, they were still priced at £5. Good advice on here is to look up. I think they were part of a spring cleaning promotion.

Squigs you are high on my list of things to do :D I'll be trying to visit you very soon.

I will be going into isolation very soon to have my stem cell harvest. I'm scared  I will have no contact with my family or anyone for at least 3 weeks and maybe more. No visitors, just Skype for contact. I've avoided that thinking my 6 months of treatment would last forever. I'm having my immune system wiped out and it's scary.

Im looking forward to next week and another very special long overdue meet up I have planned for next month :D all will be revealed then :D

    Evening folks!

Finally finished uni for, did my last day of curating on tues, for one reason and another I was in by myself for the first 2hrs but managed to deal with several people that popped in :j Though one person walked in, did a double take at a "grim" image and said "I came in to be cheered up" I said "we do have an eclectic mix" but as the words came out she was making a beeline for the door :o

Bought some P20 the other day SPF 50 200ml for 14.99, best price I've seen and I know a few on here use it :) My pound sign has gone walkabouts .....

Also, probably been mentioned but Holland and Barrett have a loyalty card when it's registered you get 150 points worth #1.50. You also get 4 points for every quid spent

    https://www.hollandandbarrett.com/my-account/rflLanding.jsp

And I see greenredeem has 18 new rewards, but still nothing for me to cash in my 1500 plus points :o

Here's my suggestion (for what it's worth :p):

New thread gets opened by either Savvy (as seems to be the general consensus) or me (to avoid disagreements about the OP).

First post contains only a short intro to the thread (to avoid the problems people have viewing when on the new forum version and some devices)

Second post by Savvy is the current original first post with all the info and then posts (as many as are needed) are the Savvy lists.

Thread title is probably best kept to being factual rather than the fun ones of previous incarnations so newbies can tell at a glance what the thread is about. So the Elite (something, something) and chat thread explains to all what the thread is about (as in the long running ones on Old Style.)

Just a suggestion as I said but it might save days of fretting over the who, what, why etc and just get the job done ;)

I agree with you on both accounts sooner it's don't the better savvy

And no point in having a monthly name-change as then people will still be huffed about that
I think the staff have tried to come up with a solution to try and minimise the crap when a new thread starts

All traditions do not need to be carried on as some just annoy folks

So go ahead lets wipe the slate clean and get off to a fresh start

I have already suggested a name and as I have never started a new thread purely because I don't know how to

I don't know all the ins and out and why 11 +

But how about ELITE BANTER or The Elite 11+ Banter

Personally I prefer the first .....so let's get it over and done with because if we have a whole weekend to sort it out
This will only cause more squabbles and digs that we are hopefully leaving in the old thread and starting a fresh

Thanks guys. It's awful poor Jo has died. She was such a nice lady. Yorkshire born and bred and just such a lovely person. I'm so sad she is no longer with us.

She always had a smile on her face and wanted to help everyone.

Apparently she got stabbed because she was very pro EU and there were some who detested her for it. Pro EU or against EU, she had 2 young children and they will now have to live life without their lovely Mom. How awful is that?

The people of my area and community are absolutely devastated. Unlike previous MP's, she did what she said she would and we will all be at a loss without her.

Thanks for your kind words all.

LEJC - good luck to your 18 year old with the exams.

BUBBS - hello honey bunny, how are you?

FC - all the best to you.

Hello to everyone else. This was just a fleeting visit but I hope you are all keeping well and are getting loads of bargains etc. Keep up the good work.

I totally agree with all of your post underperky, apart from the highlighted bit.:(

Unfortunately due to political and racial correctness, alot of tradition is being stopped these days.:(

It was discussed on here recently, how some schools weren't celebrating the Queen's 90th birthday, incase it upset certain factions of the community.

Religious assemblies in schools are rare these days, incase it upsets people.

I could go on for ages listing traditions that are now banned for one reason or another, but I wont!:D

All I am saying is, this little thread has always had certain traditions and it would be a shame if some of them weren't carried on.:)

The thread originally started as a glitch thread and over time developed into a chatty, glitch thread and then on to a thread where people could post all their problems and queries and others would give them support and answers.

It would be a crying shame, if all of the Elite 11+ traditions, were lost in this new shake up.:(:(:(

No idea. I fancy learning to crochet but if it turns out like my knitting then it will be only fit for the bin

Off to Scotland next week, meeting up with my ex support worker for a good old catch up :) Also aiming to make a start on my 3rd year project :D Planning a trip to NZ for that too, Feb, March next year :j:j And anywhere else I can fit in too

Must start research for my dissertation too :( Writing is not my strong point.....
