:D I've just read a book called Eat Dirt by Dr Josh Axe.

Dirt is now officially good for you, keeps your immune system in tip-top shape. Insufficient dirt caused allergies and illnesses inc autoimmune disease. Have a copy at home at all times to show to the housework fascists if they start beyatching.

Re kitchen floors, as long as they're not actually sticky, it's OK with me. Can't abide a sticky floor.

Oh yes I agree with you. My dear old dad used to say you need to eat a bucket of dirt before you die. I'm assuming he didn't intend it all at one sitting!

I don't even have an iron/board. I try to buy things and hang them so they don't need ironing ... and if they do then I'll just not wear those items until some future date when one day I "might" buy an iron if I really have a burning desire to wear just that item that needs it.

I was never any good at ironing anyway .... I'd try it and end up with the stuff looking no different. So what's the point?

    Hmmm....

Our current neighbors have a 4/5 year old child, who they had later in life, he is 'allergic' to wheat, diary, pollens, dust, lactose to name but a few as well as being on a vegan diet - I,m not judging but as he was not allowed to nursery, preschool etc I feel that he has allergies, due to lack of association - my own personal view of course.

My 3 were bought up on a small holding and spent most of their early Lives in wellies and little else, helping mum look after pigs, sheep, hens, geese, donkey's ( looked after for donkey sanctuary) dogs and cats - their fav game was snail/slug hunting to feed to hens - they ate what we 'grew' both animal and vegetable - a quick dunk in a bath each evening and a never off washing machine solved most issues - our house was clean, but rarely tidy - full of fun though ;)

Heheh I'm intruding from the flyladies thread :)

To be honest, for most of us it's about community and support. As for the lists, I don't think many of us do everything every day - we pick what works for us, what is needed. Little bits at a time - just keeps things ticking over nicely.

But it's not everyone's cup of tea :D

Oooo - tea - now we like that too!

I hardly touch the iron - a little attention when buying clothes and hanging things right and it's hardly needed!
Ironing!! I totally agree with Theoretica. I only iron when sewing, pressing new seams etc. My iron never gets involved with laundry at all.

:) I've had the same iron since the 1980s, it gets so little action that it hasn't had time to wear out. And I also use it mainly for sewing.

Just now, I took the last laundry load off the clothes airer as the next load is about to finish. Chucked the clean pjs on the bed ready to wear tonight, put socks and knicks and a couple of tops away and no ironing was even mentioned.

I try to eliminate housework by eliminationg things which cause housework (fellers cause a lot of housework in my experience :p). For the rest, keep things reasonably clean and reasonably tidy and it's all OK by me.
