Absolutely not. Especially when the recruiter is much younger or a woman. Theoretically yes if we're going to be logical, but no. HR people will expect you to be an expert - they will want to be dominated.

OP, if you seriously want to get a job, try swearing off maledom and Pick Up Artist blogs for six months, or wherever you are getting this utter dribble from.

Otherwise I think you need to consider a change of career to something that doesn't require human contact.

Why have you failed to keep any of the jobs you have had in the past?
My last job laid me off. I've done a lot of temping too.

Sure, if I win the lottery so I can have the startup capital.
It's a bit of a myth that having your own business means you are not working for somebody else. In reality having your own business generally means you are working for multiple people, i.e., your customers.
Not only that, but retailers, accountants, suppliers and so on. Starting your own company is a pretty advanced thing to do.

I started mine with a few grand in the early 90s, equivalent would be around 10 k now, hardly a lottery win. Knew nothing, just did it.

Just because you are allowed to think for yourself, doesn't mean that every thought you have is correct. ;) People generally back off telling me what to do.

You're allowed to, but it isn't a very good idea in your case. After all, your life seems to be pretty unsuccessful so far. Why not try listening to people who know better than you, and things might improve.

It's a bit of a myth that having your own business means you are not working for somebody else. In reality having your own business generally means you are working for multiple people, i.e., your customers.

The advantage is that the more of them you have, the more you can afford to **** one of them off.

If however you habitually tend to fall out with everybody, you are not going to stay in business very long.

Oh I know this, I run my own business. It would just be delightful for OP to experience the trials of dealing with customers who have a direct bearing on his income.

And no you don't need a lottery win to start (I started with £3K), you just need some initiative and drive. Where you take if from there is down to you.

So much for the "can do" attitude. I know an air hostess who runs her own business - an eBay sideline but a business is a business. And several other men and women who have their own business and certainly didn't win the lottery. Are you aware of how pathetic it is to talk about dominating women with one breath and reveal your mental impotence in the next? "Kneel before me, woman, or... or... I'll cry."

Incidentally, homo sapiens did not evolve from neanderthals, it's largely accepted that they diverged from a common ancestor. I don't think that finding that out is going to cause you to re-examine your faulty worldview but it's worth a go.

I don't think someone who suggested to rely on others instead of thinking would be someone who knew better.

Have done this in a non-self employed approach, made a lot of money this way. Have also done hard sales. You're really pushed in those environments and it's a lot of fun.

Yes, eBay trading is quite lucrative if you have a place to store things. I knew one person who got into it full time and worked from home. It's not something I want to do though.

It's funny how people talk about being tolerant and get nasty when you say something they don't agree with. But then, hypocrisy isn't going out of fashion any time soon.

Four interviews in a week, really? If that is true then clearly someone helped to put your CV together to get to the interview stage.

For someone who thinks he knows so much how is it that you are the only person on the thread who does not understand why you are not getting a job offer.

Entertaining though I have found this thread, I am wondering why so many people are continuing to attempt a discussion with someone who clearly is not interested in anyone else's opinion - in spite of having asked for it.
    Life is too short.

Anyone capable of getting a job knows better about getting a job than you.

Seriously, what makes you think you know better than anyone about anything? What successes in your life can you point to? What remarkable qualifications?

I'll give you a hand there. Nothing. You've failed to succeed at everything and you blame everyone bar yourself.

It's your fault. You're a fool. Recognise that and listen to people and you might get some joy out of life. Continue as you are and you will continue to fail, as you have.
