So I phoned the leave team today who agreed I can leave penalty free with 30 days notice on 7th August. They then told me that the open reach engineer booked for the 18th July won't attempt to fix the line because I've opted to leave and the new ticket will overide it so now I'm without a service for at least another month.
Also, my eventual eight weeks without service qualifys for only one month refund of service charge but if I phone again after the 18th I may be offered £5 for the inconvenience of wasting about seven hours of my life on the phone so far.
Please, please don't anyone think about joining Talk Talk I'm going to write to head office about my complaints and costs incurred and as I anticipate there will be no response, after fair warning in writing I will issue a small claims writ through the court.Debt Free 🍾 since 6.8.13 £32kSaving for 🎄 🎁 2026 £285/£730 39%6 mth 🆘 fund £10kMortgage offset fund £23.2k/£29k 80%It turns out the answer to my problems wasn’t at the bottom of this tub of ice-cream, 🍨 but the important thing is that I tried...0 -
Open reach came this morning and fixed it. He said it was due to a broken panel which affected 96 users including my neighbour and himself as he lives about 30 secs drive from me.
Everyone else was fixed the same day- 8th June! He said all Talk Talk had to do was make ONE phone call; imagine that, a telecommunication company making a call to another telecommunication company. Even this was too much for Talk Talk to manage for 6 weeks.
Letter to ombudsman going straight off as I've had the final response from the loyalty team which = £1 a day refund of charges but no compensation for my additional outlay of mobile data due to what I now know was outright negligence. This is no way to treat customers, bring on 8th August when I jump ship and they will have lost yet another customer.Debt Free 🍾 since 6.8.13 £32kSaving for 🎄 🎁 2026 £285/£730 39%6 mth 🆘 fund £10kMortgage offset fund £23.2k/£29k 80%It turns out the answer to my problems wasn’t at the bottom of this tub of ice-cream, 🍨 but the important thing is that I tried...0 -
