this may have been spoken about before, but i'm trying to find out where i stand with paying for fibre broadband but not getting it all the way to my house.
When taking out the package i wasn't informed about this when the deal was being made with BT.
could someone please help me with this issue because i'm not happy with my service that i am receiving from BT, in the senes of speed and service.

can you clarify?
Are you rewferring to FTTC (fibre to the cabinet), where as the name suggsgts there is a fibre connection to your cabint which is usually on your street in urban areas and then copper line from the cabinet to your property.
I understand in rural areas the cabinet could be a good couple of miles away.,0 -
yes that is exactly what i'm talking about FTTC, there are two cabinets in my area which are both over 0.5 of a mile away.
i know its not a lot but my but i wasn't aware of this at the time, and my broadband speed isn't very good.0 -
Think yourself lucky my cab is over twice as far.0

thats not good,
so what has your provider said about it.
also my partner seen martin lewis chatting about this issue on the programme THIS MORNING, but i can't find anything on the internet about it, nor on here in any of the forums.0 -

Well, limited if any at the moment. The existing Virgin Media network is also a hybrid fibre network, they use copper coax from the fibre cab to the home. They have recently announced that as part of their network expansion, some areas will get fibre to the home, but thats new.0 -

You should have been given a estimate when you signed up. What was it and how do your speeds compare ?0 -
I think you have a problem if you rely on the sales people for advice on broadband speeds they quote from generic jargon on there screens and don't really understand. Even though I have a higher than average understanding of networks they refused to accept that they may have been wrong and check there information needless to say I went else where. But to be honest I find a lot of these companies promise big and deliver little.0
