Even if you do want Sky Sports in HD there are alternatives....such as visiting the pub.
We have one regular who comes in orders a can of red bull and watches the football in HD on Sky on a big screen for the next 90 minutes not buying another can.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

We are lucky in that neither of us are sports minded so we are happy with Freeviev, Freesat and a Humax Box.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

It's worth it if you're absolutely sure which channels you wish. Otherwise the packages they provide work out less expensive. It's designed in such a way. Whatever permutation combinations you try you'll end up spending a lot of. Unless there is a limited range of channels you plan to watch like extremely limited it makes sense.0

I visited a Sky representative at Beacon Electrical, Kingsbridge. They offered a joining price of £19.50 per month for 12 months on the full package plus sport, so £28 off the normal price. Always make sure you ask around.0

Yes, its currently one a day. There was one pub in London that hit the headlines a couple of years ago. They paid SKY £180,000 a year. No bull.....
SKY have just increased their commercial premises rates for the coming season by 10 - 20%. No bull.
More (legal) pubs now have BT Sport than Sky Sports. Why? Because its up to 75% cheaper. It obviously shows a lot less football, but the general consensus in the pub industry is its still a puller, and at less than half the cost. Yet SKY have still increased rates by 10 - 20% for next season.
That bubbles going to burst.

When I saw the email telling me that the free call allowance was going to be £4 a month from the next month, I lost the head...... It's only 4 quid I hear you say, but it's just the last nail in the coffin as far as I'm concerned. . I was so angry,I'd been paying £31 a month on a deal which just ended, this £4 rise put my bill up to £52 a month, I just got so mad and I was lucky my contract was ending in January, I called them up, Told them I was leaving, sick of their money grabbing ways, I guess the guy wasn't used to someone being so frank, he tried his best, but I totally cancelled my Sky package ( no more tv ) it reverted to freesat, ( no more pausing or recording )
I was still haggling and he found out that I Could have free broadband for a year, so now I only have to pay £18.65 a month for the line rental. . What a RESULT :rotfl:
I am now sharing Now TV with a relative, they already had Now TV movies

I'm absolutely incensed, it wasn't that long ago when I cancelled HD saving myself £10 a month. It seems they are absolutely intent on getting as much money out of me as possible.
I'm not the greatest haggler in the world, but I think it's about time I tried it out. I don't know quite how to go about it though. I simply ring them up and tell them I'm not going to put up with the price rise and am going to leave. However they could call my Bluff which will obviously leave me looking rather silly. Or do I say I'm going to go over to Amazon because I can get a better deal. Just wondering what your thoughts were on which tactics I should use?0 -
