I've have started to go in with my own supply of bottled cold drinks which is ok until it runs out due to silly o'clock to simply have lunch.

How much are you drinking? Have you thought of taking a larger bottle?

This all seems like common sense.

    I'm confused....

So, you can have drinks at your desk? If so, then your problem is solved with using an insulated mug for hot drinks and a sports drink type bottle for cold... water, squash, juice etc.

    Does that sound do-able?

Buy a 2 litre bottle of water. Drink at desk (use a cup/glass if you want). Refill at lunch or when required. Problem solved.

Bottles of water at the desk are not the answer. Has the situation been assessed for incidents of spillage coming into contact with electronic equipment/ computers etc.

Management should consider looking at providing adequate water dispensers around the department.

Just wondering if anybody has to go a long while having anything to drink whilst at work and what could be done, sadly this new team don't appear to be tea or coffee drinks and I'm really struggling having been kept very well topped where I was previously, also the staff facilities are well away from working area, so it's not like I can nip to the loo and sneak in any kind of drink as I struggle to get up when not on break, having appreciated this new place is a lot more like a call centre than I had anticipated.

I could take in a flask but from when I remember doing this once before, it isn't really acceptable and I can understand why. (I've actually no idea how I used to get away with it.)

I really don't know how to go from 8:30 to my break which is set to be 14:00 hours without a cuppa plus it is really starting to bring on headaches, with drinking so little.

I've a fruitition bottle but I do love a hot, even if going cold drink!

Any ideas? Would this be a deal breaker. Then I'm thinking how do something like retail workers cope? Perhaps it gets easier?

Surely you must be allowed to take a tea break in that long time? If it isn't made clear in the contract I would ask your manager directly if it's okay to go and get a coffee at say 11 am. Hopefully the other workers will follow your lead.

There is no requirement for any break at that duration.

Surely a bottle of water with a lid/top/sports top is safer than an open glass of water refilled from a dispenser?

Can't be doing with individual quoting, here goes the phone rings constantly and I am also timed in my duties it would seem, so cannot leave my seat for fear the very timer shall be against me, there is no option to just wonder off and get even water or any drink as I would please, of course I have thoughts to myself it might just change the longer I be there, but honestly I'm not sure if is not something I want to entertain for the worser good.
I've have started to go in with my own supply of bottled cold drinks which is ok until it runs out due to silly o'clock to simply have lunch. (which I'm pretty sure is an unfortunate trait of last in or so many temps previously who accepted it, I get it)

I visit the ladies at lunchtime only.

My colleagues do not go for drinks as already said, so I am unable to ask anyone if they mind grabbing me a drink so feeling quite restricted. We can have snacks only at desk I'm informed, so perhaps something like watermelon will be a good idea for replacing fluids I'm thinking.

It certainly wasn't something I thought I needed to ask as it wasn't sold as hardened call centre. I was simply missing having a tea or coffee whilst I work even if I had to pay for the hot beverage. I'm really looking for idea's not a disprove session if you don't mind so I sincerely thank those who offered these.

Sounds like having limited drinks is the least of your problems, IMO

I didn't suggest this at all - drink at the dispenser then return to work station - simples.

The law says a break AFTER 6 hours

The op is getting a break at 5 hrs 30 mins

Really can no one any longer control their bladder or survive without a drink for 5 hrs 30 mins?

Seriously we are in the uk. It's not like the op is running a marathon in the Sehara

The op has a caffeine addiction. No more or less then those who have a nicotine addiction who have to wait for their unpaid break to get their fix
