ATM withdrawal certainly works for me (TSB).
Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!

why not? It's an excellent way to use your TSB contactless card whenever you like.

In addition, it might help to spend exactly £100 - I just buy a £100 Waitrose gift card now with ApplePay each month and then use the gift card at the checkout.

If you don't shop at Waitrose: you can use ApplePay anywhere where contactless is accepted. And you don't even have to carry your TSB debit card with you, so nobody can fraudulently use your card as it can't be stolen or lost (assuming you have a safe place to keep it at home). It's the bees knees.

Why not? Well it's not the bees knees if you don't have an iphone... which a lot of money-saving people won't have! Or, if they do, they may well have an older model, which won't run ApplePay. I might use it if we had an Iphone 6 (or maybe 5?) but I can't justify buying one.

If TSB support Android Pay we could use that - but the Zanderfamily have 4 TSB Plus debit cards but only one phone modern enough to have NFC....

ok, so maybe just 'PIN unlock'.. to be fair withdrawing £10 cash would be easy enough. if that works:undecided

I was responding to someone who said they had 2 iPhones. Still interested why they "don't want to get into ApplePay".

Withdrawing £10 from ATM definitely works.

My experience is that any C&P transaction (purchase, ATM cash withdrawal, balance check) allows me to make several subsequent contactless purchases.

What I haven't quite fathomed yet, is exactly how often I need to perform a C&P transaction:think:

I had the same experience, I had a nice 29+ pounds purchase then the contactless didn't work and I had to pay with chip and pin... :-(

The trick is to make a 'starter' purchase, buying something for 1-2 pounds separately, immediately before the 25-30 pounds big spend. I pay the first transaction with chip and pin (not even trying contactless), then the next purchase will always be allowed by contactless and usually 1-2 more, too.

This is puzzling for me. I have had the TSB Classic Plus account and c'less card for a few months now, never been c'less before, but love the process and have made many purchases that way. Not once have I been asked for c & p, perhaps it will happen in time though. If it does, a swift visit to an ATM and mini statement seems to be the best solution.

I have asked this before on the previous thread, no answer was forthcoming: my card is TSB Mastercard, is it the same for others?
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.

I don't doubt that it's worked for you so far, but it definitely didn't work for me on at least one occasion. :(

Perhaps the PIN requests are totally random?

According to the TSB website their debit cards are VISA, whilst their credit cards are Mastercard or Amex. What type of card is the one you are referring to?
