I think (the bits in bold) are incorrect info.
Why do you think that? What would be the correct info?

Weirdly this link below states that the 5% was only 'for new accounts opened on or after 01/07/2015' - whilst a previous rate of 2% was for 'Accounts opened between 10 December 2013 and 30 June 2015'

I think the rates quoted are correct . The 2% account was a legacy offering from the Lloyds-TSB days and was upgraded to 5% as part of the new TSB offerings after the split.

Sounds about right. My 2% TSB regular saver matures on 22 June and I remember being livid when they announced the 5% one about a week or so after I opened it last year. I went searching for T&Cs to see if I could close within a 14 day cooling off period and reopen at 5%, but they'd still have made me wait a year to open a new one so I stuck with it.

Thank you to the posters who've heard about a drop. I shall be quick off the mark to renew at 5% on 23rd if it's still available!

Fourth? Thought you were only allowed three between two people. one each and a joint.

I opened my 2nd sole a/c a few months ago not realising you are now only allowed 1 sole and 1 joint a/c. Before, you were allowed two sole a/cs.

However, it appears Santander are happy to pay me the full 3% on my second account and taking their £5 monthly fee so I will keep it open for now.

Wait... I never knew about this. 5% on £250 a month?
I can open one now and get the 5% rate for a year or is it not fixed?

    you can, and it's fixed..
"Get an interest rate of 5.00% Gross/AER* fixed for a year."

    I've lost track.

Am I right to say there is absolutely no evidence that the 5% rate is being removed?

Some people have been told it by TSB staff, which is oral evidence, but there's nothing online or in print to back it up, so the evidence isn't conclusive.
