Because my current mobile phone is old, (Lenovo A816)it is unable to accept the settings required to access my data allowance from my Life Mobile sim only monthly contract despite playing around trying to navigate settings, I am aiming to buy a new phone. Ideally it will be unlocked and from EE, because Life are part of the EE organisation. However, I don't want or need an expensive phone. The make is immaterial.

You are right. I am trying to work fast as there is much to do at this end, realise now I should have worded it better and trying to skype Cyprus etc.

Your current phone is not that old. Perhaps there is another reason as to why you can't get it working.
Perhaps you can explain in more detail as to where your issues lie.

TESCO MOBILE shop have them from £65

Some of them may be locked to Tesco, some are not

Ebay unlock takes about an hour for under £2

Yes, that's it. A previous poster has said that on the information provided, there IS a data connection and as I have said, with my phone wifi turned off, pages start to load ever so slowly to the point that I raise and move the phone about to try and increase the signal.

If anyone had suggested that the area is poor I would have probably accepted it, but I have asked everyone I know how they connect in town and they all reply through data allowance, irrespective of provider.

I have to go into town where we have a small tesco but think I will go to my ee shop (as we have home/broadband from them) and see if they can offer me anything, then if not, make the journey to a large tesco on Portland.
