Santander - online banking absolutely abysmal.

Anyone else have trouble with Santander online banking. I simply can't log in half the time. It refuses my login - I know it's definitely 100% correct, but it simply won't accept my details. Works some days and not others. I opened this account to take advantage of the 3% interest, but there's no way I'm trusting them with my money with such a poor online banking system.

I never have that problem and I log in more than 30 times in a months with Santander online banking.

Sometimes I find that it hangs on the initial customer no. screen -I then have to stop and refresh whereupon it clicks thru to the password screen and then works fine.
I've gone thru similar problems with other online banks; Tesco banking appears not to like Firefox for instance so I use Chrome just for Tesco.

I use Natwest and Santander and Santander is certainly superior - never had an issue. Maybe its the user :P

Nah, not the user. I have many bank accounts with other banks, I can always log in with them. Santander is the only one I have a problem with.

No issues here either. Sounds like a browser issue - have you, you know, actually spoken to Santander about it?


Which one are you using? Is your OS up to date? If you don't update your PC regularly some banking websites can stop working as you haven't had security updates.

I have been logging into my Santander online banking on a daily basis for the last 4 or so years. Never had a problem. I use Chrome, Safari and IE. I'm not checking the MSE forum every day but I don't think anyone has reported problems similar to yours in the last several years either.

I suggest you have a problem with your browser settings and/or plugins, and/or software currency. Have you tried using a clean browser instance, one without any tailoring you made to it?

Mine would't let me log in either for ages 2 days ago.I very rarely get problems with santander online banking.Eventually worked after numerous tries.

I'll just add my name to those saying that they've never had a problem. I usually use the iOS app but also use my laptop at least 10 times a month and have never had an issue.

Perhaps try clearing your cache?

I log in to my Santander account daily, sometimes more than once a day and never have any problems logging in.
