    Hey All,

I hope you're all enjoying the sun?

More debt busting PADding today, for a total of £255 please Dizzy. With £250 going to the Bank of Mum and £5 going to MBNA.

I'm finally starting to see the light at the end of the Debt Tunnel :j:j:j

I just need to get my head around batch cooking and meal planning as I'm still leaking money through my budget when it comes to food...:eek::eek:

Keedie, Batch cooking is one of my favourite things about getting my finances in order....but also one of my most hated when it's not going so well! It's done massive favours with budgets but sometimes I really struggle to get the willpower to plan everything so meticulously :o

It comes together eventually though, and makes life a lot easier :)

Kirstypoos, thanks for the encouragement. I have wasted so much on take aways and silly food shopping trips when I'm hungry or feeling depressed. But just cooking a few times a week and shopping in Lidl more has been financially beneficial. So I just need to work out some kind of meal plan so that I know what to buy and what to cook.

Does anyone else batch cook, and if so, do you freeze it and how long does it last? As it's only my son and I, meals designed for 4 people become 'batch' meals of sorts. I've finally got some decent containers and freezer bags to store the food, I just now need to work out what goes in them... :rotfl:

I batch cook in my slow cooker, I freeze it for up to one month and it's always tasted fine. :) I cook chilli, bolognese, pie fillings and curries. Pie fillings are great, I just hear through and add a puff pastry top.
