I got a Talk talk scam call, 9.30 today from 0020 8888 7779. They knew my name and wanted me to log on to computer. I did not, TT confirmed it was a scam.
"Talk talk will never ring you" was the comment from them.

Yes be carefull, they got as far as controlling my dads PC with this method, and were on his personal banking, luckily they got greedy and tried to siphon too much money so the bank security spotted it, so he learned a very lucky lesson, and didn't lose any money. Had to go through hassles of new bank account etc, but it's so easy for these guys to trick the older generation.
Talk Talk caused all this and their help to customers is lamentable. These people ring up with all the information they need to trick people, anybody using Talk Talk now need their heads wobbling !! Crazy if you ask me.0 -
I had one today at about midday. TT technical dept, I left TT over a year ago so politely (not) told them where to go. 002088887779 was the number, fake I guess.0

I had similar experience about a month ago. An idiot with a south asian accent called me that I had a lot of errors message sent to talk talk and offer a help to sort it out.
I said I will call Talk Talk about this and I will decide myself what to do. He just say ok and hang up.
I am hoping something like this happen again and I will teach them an expensive lesson to pay which also include abusing him.
I just google it and indeed there are quite similar cases in the past. Their goal is to get a remote access to your computer and steal your bank detail.

I've been getting calls from this number for months. I used to be with Talktalk so I guess they got my details ages ago with some form of hack (before the famous one)
Since then I have been with BT and now Plusnet but they refuse to accept that I am no longer with Talktalk and get quite annoyed when I question their information and motives.
Nowadays, when I see a number starting with 002 on my caller display I just ignore it. I recommend everyone else does the same.0 -

Do not let him get away easily after trying to con you ....
Waste his time / resources by keep playing while you work on other thing, abuse him to teach him a lesson at the end.0 -
I asked the caller whether they were a liar before they joined this 'outfit' or had they turned them into one.
"Oh no, its not like that"
"Oh yes it is"
Panto at its best!0 -
You can certainly waste their time, by all means do so, but why be abusive and nasty? It really doesn't make you sound like a nice person.0

I just feel it's preferable to be the "better person". If you shout and swear they probably laugh at you knowing how they've managed to wind you up. Being pleasant is more likely to make them feel ashamed.
There again, it takes all sorts.0 -

Keep in mind they are not cold callers, they are fraudsters
Look at the post #4 to get idea what they have done to other people
Do you need to be nice to a fraudster the one who intend to empty your bank account ??0
