Tuesday 7th June - what small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!

Hi All,
Good weather makes such a difference to my mood however on the flip side it means the horrid neighbours are always in the communal grounds making life a miseryI am hoping in the next week we can view the flat and fingers crossed, move! I am just dreading not passing the referencing as I am on a self managed DMP! Didnt have a good nights sleep, DS1 wouldnt go to bed and ended up in with us, DS2 decided it was playtime all night and ended up in with us, DD ended up in with us so I slept across the end of the bed and got hardly any sleep. Kids ay!
- school run Done
- playgroup with DD and DS2 Done
- wash at mums and hang on line :rotfl: Done
- nursery run with DD
- pop into town to collect jeans as originals returned as faulty and print a postage label for another return item from fleabay
- school run
- check FPL
- cleaning and hoover
- meals from stores (burgers I got reduced, salad and wedges)
- chill
Hope you all have a lovely day! xDMP Started June 20160 -
Morning all,
Been a lot busier lately and haven't been keeping up with the threads so much.
Today:
- working from home
- 2 x loads of laundry on the line
- car in for MOT (fingers crossed!) EDIT - it passed!
- reconcile YNAB (my bonus derailed me as I didn't properly budget that and overspent. Have now reworked out my budget and it reconciles with my bank account!)
- all meals from plan / stores
- hopefully sell old car seat (if the lady ever turns up.... I hate waiting) EDIT - she did turn up! am £10 better off
- Got tempted by the Best Self journal and found out they give you the PDF for free... plan on printing out some pages at work tomorrow and seeing how it works for me.
Lots of positive frugal hugs from me to you all. Hope you all have a great day xxNew total: £24,006

Hi All
I had a bit of a break through today with the sale of the business process. Having spoken to my accountant he thinks there will be value in the lease based on all the work done to the premises. I am feeling a tiny bit optimistic now. So next step for me is to find a company that values leases. And I need to get OH to work from home so I can book in a proper sit down with the accountant as I cant do that with the little one.
As the OP said earlier, Im choosing optimism (to paraphrase) I hope we can walk out of this chapter of our lives with a decent chunk. But the irony of knowing I could have earned more in one year of employment than I am likely to walk off with after 5 years self employment is not lost on me.
Storms about to start here. Flys everywhere, its boiling hot and close as hell.
Keep on keeping on small thingers.

Hi everyone, thanks for starting CCL
I've had a particularly rubbish day at work and it still isn't over as I'm here until 7pm (11 hour day). I have the worst manager in the world and it doesn't look like there is any chance of me being re-graded even though I'm working above my job description and was led to believe I'd be re-graded when we were restructured two years ago.
Seriously considering applying for a 12-month temp job which is £4k less than I'm on - it's that bad. On the plus side I'd get some experience in a slightly different field. Down side is less money and temporary. Answers on a postcard please!
Not a NSD as I bought a Boots voucher for my Grandma's birthday (and lunch)
Not having tea tonight as I'm not hungry plus I'm extremely bloated
No interest in my car which I've listed for sale
It's our departmental away day tomorrow so at least it'll be a change of scene!

Evening all
Survived (mostly) another busy day... Love and hugs to all of them that need at the moment.
Hope you get your pot off tomorrow Legomum.
Good news on the progress with the business Bob.
Princesspea - wish I could offer you some advice but my head is all over the place and I can barely think straight at the moment. All I would say is don't make any hasty decisions.crazy_cat_lady wrote: »
