Pacel2Go claim and lies

Afternoon, looking for help and advice.
I sent a very expensive Jacket (£800) back for a warranty claim , I used Parcel2go 24hr delivery NOT realising they used Yodel, ( i used them before and would not again after having major issues with them) . My parcel was picked up from my Partner. I left it 2 days before tracking hoping the parcel would arrive by then , when i checked i noticed it was Yodel and there was an issue of late delivery . I spoke to online chat who first said they were looking into it. a day later i was told it was found and would be delivered within 24-48 hours. i even offered to go and collect the parcel as was not happy with using Yodel. i was told i could'nt and the parcel was out for delivery. I spoke again to someone on chat who then said it was now lost again.
I didn't take out the extra insurance as i did'nt think there would be an issues with it's size and it could'nt get damaged. I have now lost £800 due to being lied too and i even offered to go and collect the parcel direct from Yodel. is there anything else i can do as not happy with all the lies that i have been told ??

You will only be covered up to the limit in place for using them unless as you have said insuring more valuable items, What do you mean by lies?

If it is delays then all you can do is refer to the standard complaints procedure and then seek further action if you are not happy with the final response they issue.

You sent an £800 jacket without insurance?

How did you not know the courier was Yodel? Each service states the courier, p2g simply act as an intermediary.

What do you want to happen? If they're telling you the item is lost then you'll need to claim on the limited insurance you do have.

They told me the jacket had been found and was due to be delivered after i said i wanted to go and pick it up from Yodel themselves. I didn't know it was Yodel until checking the tracking . My partner was in when it was picked up .

So who has the jacket now .
You say it is due to be delivered and therefore you should not be out of pocket.

They have now said it is lost again and will only refund my inital postage cost. My issue is that when they said they had found the jacket after initially losing it i wanted to go and pick it up from Yodel depot, the chat operator said it was no longer there but out for delivery and should take up to 48 hours, since then it has been lost again.

If they have lost it twice then that is negligence.

Do you have it in writing that they lost it?

Sending something worth £800 without insurance is just crazy, so you are relying on evidence of negligence.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

    Ouch!

Firstly though, parcel2go is a third party site and don't deliver parcels, they act as a comparison site so the sender can choose which service to use.

    https://www.parcel2go.com/

    from their very first page

    Compare

Get instant quotes & compare from a range of courier delivery services.

As the UK’s biggest cheap courier comparison website you can compare parcel prices and all postal rates from the most reliable parcel couriers.

The insurance level you get for your parcel depends on what service you choose, famously on the ebay board (see my sig) we often discuss the fact that Myhermes booked through parcel2go gives no insurance but booked direct gives £25.

As for making any sort of claim Yodel, booked by sender choice through parcel2go has 2 prices, one with a small amount of insurance, the other with no insurance at all so it sounds like you opted for the latter.

Frankly though for the money at stake you need to be proactive here , get them on social media and keep on at them about tracing the parcel. Be polite- any nonsense about them lying to you is likely to shut any negotiation you might have, so stay calm and be firm- you want to know what has happened to the parcel.

You enter the value and P2G ask at least a couple of times if you want to insure. In fact it's easy to click the wrong thing and add the insurance to the basket, done it a couple of times and had to go back to remove.

Sad thing is you paid for a service to transport goods worth up to £20. You need a service to transport goods up to the value of £800. They prompted you to change the service you chose to one suitable and you would have declined.

So now you're due the £20 for the lost parcel you sent.

I have asked P2G about contacting Yodel but they have told me they only correspond by messenger or similar , they dont have any details other than the tracking number from Yodel .
