I have asked P2G about contacting Yodel but they have told me they only correspond by messenger or similar , they dont have any details other than the tracking number from Yodel .

The only chance you have here is to keep on at parcel2go as that is where you have your contract. This is always the issue with using a third party site, you need them to fight for you, if you had booked direct with the courier you have more leeway .

As apparently you have no insurance, I fear there is nothing left that you can do.

I don't suppose you care to mention the name of the company you bought this £800 jacket from......
  • How can you use Parcel2go and not understand that YOU select the courier used? They are also VERY clear that if you don't pay for insurance, their liability is either £20 or zero.

You can't complete the process without being nagged about insurance! The insurance cost would have been an extra £39+VAT but then I would have used RMSD for a jacket that expensive.

    Something doesn't add up here....

OP I fear your coat is lost, maybe keep on at P2G and maybe contact Yodel.

I don't understand - you declined to insure the parcel, but are surprised they won't pay out?
I think there's a lesson in here somewhere!
  • It's easy to have a go at the OP but firstly the insurance would have been £39 + VAT which is pretty steep and I don't think it's very fair Parcel2go simply write the parcel off as lost and wipe their hands of the matter, it didn't just disappear into thin air.

OP your best bet is to contact the Yodel depot where it last was, speak to the operations manager and ask them to look for the parcel in the depot. If the tracking shows it was out for delivery then ask them to interview the driver as well.

Don't mention anything about parcel2go, lies or anything else, just you'd like to locate a parcel with the tracking ID xxxx.

You may also wish to contact the company you've sent it to as it could have been delivered and the tracking isn't correct.

  • The OP doesn't have a contract with Yodel, it's with Parcel2Go, so they probably won't help too much anyway.

It doesn't matter how much the insurance is, the OP took the risk and while it might be unfair the parcel disappeared, they agreed the T&Cs when the paid for the shipping. If you don't agree with the terms don't use their service and go to the post office or direct to one of the many shipping companies out there.

I still don't believe the story though as it's impossible to use Parcel2Go and not know who the courier would be.

Cant link the email i received but It' DOESN'T say anywhere who the delivery company are

This is just a clip of the transcript from P2G

Emily: The depot was not able to get an update unfortunately and is instead performing searches Jason
Emily: I am very sorry for any inconvenience caused
jason: But i was told today by one of your represenatives that is was out for delivery ???
Emily: We were advised the parcel was in transit, but I can't see an out for delivery scan on tracking unfortunately
Emily: We've asked for an update and the courier responded with the above

As you can see they were advised that it was in transit after i was told it was lost
