Yeah, but that's the beauty of averages.
  • I've had my new bike (litre superbike) for five weeks now, and it's had its running in service (600mi) today. I typically do about 6K a year, riding in all weathers.
Nice to hear from a fellow all-weather biker. My "main" bike does around 10,000 a year. The others (typically 3 or 4) do another 3-4,000 between them. I have to confess I'm slightly less of an all-weather biker. I bought the car because my wife doesn't like me riding on business in the worst of the winter weather.

Trouble is, I have three of them already, and a motorhome. A bike was the only other thing with an engine that I can fit in the garage, and that the wife wouldn't notice.
You could buy a car for that?

Last car I bought (new) has three cylinders, 1,000cc, 75hp and cost just over £10,000. It has heated seats and air conditioning.

Last bike I bought (new) to join the others in the garage also has three cylinders, 2,300cc, nearly 150hp and cost £15,700 with accessories - but no heated seats or aircon!

The best bit is the bike cost far less to insure!

Both are doing well and neither will need to be rejected. Thankfully.

It was a joke, I am all for people driving/riding whatever they want (responsibly).

Maybe the next one should be a ride on lawnmower?

    As was my reply.

As an aside, I wish I had the lawn to justify one...
