How are you keeping PH? Hope everything is progressing in the right direction, and you're managing some lovely fresh air and family time. (hugs))

Thank you all lovelies. You're keeping me motivated. If only my brain would play and stop sending me to the land of confused chemo fog. Goodness, I'm ditzy enough without it.

Now things are a state...money, the house, the garden....everything and at the moment I feel like I have no control whatsoever. It's all getting me down. Tonight I decided to take back control. While having treatment I need to be careful and keep things clean. Except how can that happen with SO MUCH EFFING JUNK, RUBBISH AND CLUTTER. Tomorrow I will fill one bin bag of either rubbish or charity shop stuff. If I can only manage 15 minutes so be it but I need to be in charge again. I cannot stand to be in this house with all this stuff for much longer.

Re money....screwed. After this month it's half pay for 2 months then SSP. I have to start figuring this out or I'm going to be in trouble. I need to come back to this. I'm so glad I've worked since I was 14 and paid into the system.

Oh and a few days ago the cat went off her legs so yesterday she had to go to the cat basket in the sky. RIP Biscuit, but that was another £55 I didn't need to spend. It never bl00dy ends does it.

I'm trying to stay positive but tonight I think if I was in a pub I would be the one starting a fight.

Tomorrow I will be back, hopefully without my @rse in my hands (as they say in the sunny black country).

    Have a good night all.

God girl you sound in a right state with yourself. (((hugs)))
I'm sorry to hear about the cat - that's definitely another thing you could have done without.
Is it possible to get ANY help from Social Services regarding helping you in the house? I'm thinking of something like a home help that you could direct to do things. Are the family helping at all?

Really wish I could do something practical to help - but all I can say is try to stay positive and try and get any and all help that is available. Please keep posting (((hugs))) XX

  • Sending hugs Parsnip. Your health and recovery is much more important than the other stuff.

I understand you need to take control again - but please start off small. One bin bag of stuff a day will be enough to do this.

As Chrystal as said there must be some help available for you - make sure you ask the question at your appointments and take any help there is, even if its just to relieve the pressure of home life. Is your OH helping out ?

    Take Care x

Have you been in touch with Macmillan? They can help you work out what help you can get and where to find it. They offer a lot of practical support.

    .

Parsnip, you are amazing - please do not overdo it.

If you were closer I would come round and help you decluatter, you could sit in the chair and point things out and I would do all the moving - is anyone else near to you?

I second the suggestion of Macmillan as they have a Welfare Rights Team who are generally in the cancer clinics to see people.

Have you claimed PIP (Personal Independence Payment)?
Generally people with cancer get the highest rate of both for a couple of years before it is reviewed.
Ring them today for a claim form https://www.gov.uk/pip

Thanks guys. I was just aggravated last night. Plus being a control freak was making things worse.

DH is doing his bit but so much has piled up over the years. It's definitely a sort it now or never time.

Someone else mentioned pip but I thought I wouldn't be eligible as I Have a job. To be honest the whole benefits thing scares and confuses me as its something I've never dealt with.

This morning I have a funeral to attend but later one bag will be history.

On the brightside after complaining about my weight for years I have now lost two stone. I'm now 10st. Not the best way to lose it but you know.;)

    Have a good day all.

So sorry about your cat parsnip

Defo look into what other help you should be having, there's nothing wrong with getting more help financially as like you've said you've paid into the system and that's what it should be for

Take it easy with the decluttering but if it helps your frame of mind go for it xx
