Pay & Display machine not working

I am sorry about posting a new thread but I have received a County Court Claim form to which I have acknowledged & stated I intend to defend. After spending a couple of hours searching posts I can't find anything relating to Out of order pay & display machines so am not sure if this would be an allowable defence. There was only one machine (there are now two) in the car park and I left a note in my windscreen to say machine not working.

It was issued by excel on 16/07/2015, the claim is from VCS / BW Legal.0

ticket issued by Excel. claim by VCS? Even though they're sister companies only excel can make a claim against you. Any mention of VCS on the signage or ticket? If not it's popcorn time if what you're saying is correct.0

I don't have the original ticket however the pay machine does refer to Vehicle Control Services.0

I think a request to see the logs of the ticket machine , in a period of say 1/2hr before and say 1hr after you arrived would prove if that machine had taken any money , you will of corse require a printout from the ANPR cameras , that shows other people arriving and leaving and should match up with any payments takenSave a Rachael

There were / are no cameras in this car park, very little signage, basically just a payment machine.0

Are you SURE the PCN was issued by Excel? Notice to Keeper from Excel not VCS?

As I say I have searched through other threads but can't find anything regarding pay machine not working, I don't have the PCN so can't be sure if it was issued by excel or VCS. I am trying to establish if the fact that there was only one machine and it wasn't working would be considered as an allowable defence?0
