            Unless Hotter give their laces a lifetime guarantee, I have no idea why the OP thought Hotter had an obligation to replace them? I'm sure, even if the laces were coloured or unusual a comparable could have been found on the net somewhere. Surely better than not being able to wear the shoes for 14 weeks plus?
 Another person who, if they could afford the price, can see several pairs of shoes/sandals that she'd love to buy. Some of the styles are a bit dated, but plenty nice up to date ones too.0

            I can see the OPs point - it happens fairly often with shoes I buy, the laces don't last as long as the shoes and you're left with the choice of buying replacements that don't match or are too short/long etc as the manufacturer doesn't sell replacements.
 That said, the OP IS asking a bit much....0
