Sooo Frustrated With Hotter

I love my Hotter shoes, but after a couple of years the laces were fraying, so I went to our local shop in February this year and asked to buy new laces. I was told that they don't stock laces but they would order some from their warehouse and they would be delivered to my home at no cost to myself. This process was going to take a few weeks. After 4 weeks, they still hadn't arrived and I was told by store staff that it would be at least 6 weeks. So, after a total of 9 weeks and still no laces, I went back to the shop to find out what was happening. They shop people phoned the warehouse and were told that because they still hadn't got any laces, my order had been cancelled. I was told to get in touch in another 6 weeks to see if any had been traced. Oh, and by the way, Hotter now charge over £4 for delivery, which they would waive as a good will gesture. I still had the shop receipt that shows no charge.
Today, after another 7 weeks, off back to the shop again, same result, no laces available and a suggestion that I wait even longer.
I suggested that in the name of good customer relations, that they take a pair of laces from one of their new pairs in the shop and give them to me. No luck, Hotter don't do that kind of thing.
I told the assistant that the matter wouldn't be pursued any further and that myself, my wife and our family wouldn't be buying Hotter shoes again - we have been good customers over the years.
Surely, if Hotter still make shoes of the same model (they do) then they must make spare laces.
I've now bought some laces from another quality shoe shop, and their manager told me that she would have taken laces out of new shoes to keep a customer happy.
A very bad show Hotter.

Sorry? You really expected them to remove laces from a new pair of shoes to replace yours which are several years old? Knowing that they are having difficulty sourcing new ones and thus rendering a pair of shoes unsaleable
Laces don't last forever - they would be classed as consumables. Would you expect Hotter to resole/reheel your shoes for free in perpetuity too?
I think you're expecting too much from a cheap, high street brand. (And they're shoes are as ugly as sin)0 -

Unless Hotter have lifetiime guarantee on shoelaces. Which they don't.
Anyone with half a brain will think two years for a pair of showlaces is a reasonable amount of time for them to last. I had shoes where the laces fell to bits in 6 months. Did I go to the shop storm up a fuss like you did? No. I just got a pair of shoelaces from the market.

What shoes were they, exactly?
It's doubtful you couldn't find replacement laces elsewhere in the 7 weeks you were waiting. For example here is their best selling ladies shoe:
Took me about 1.5 minutes to find some cheap replacement laces.
