  • just used keyrepair.co.uk (with a www. in front of it!!) to repair one of my laguna key cards which would unlock and start the car but not lock it. I payed via paypal - although you can pay by cheque/c. card/d. card etc, sent the card on tuesda afternoon first class, and its now friday and it has just come back recorded all working correctly. Really good service - reccomended.

For years Renault credit card type keys have been unprogrammable, despite what the prats on ebay have been saying, however I understand,(can't guarantee), that there now is a process to resolve this. Do a further search on here and the Renoualt forums, things chage very quickly ;););)

By main key does that mean you have another identical key or just a door key??

There is a guy in Bradford on e.bay who can reprogram new cards providing you have the old one, it does not have to work, he can clone the chips or if the card is salvageable can repair it as good as new.

We had two of the plastic credit card type keys.

The dog chewed one of them to pieces. The other spare is ok though.

The chip was chewed up and had teeth holes in it, bits missing etc. so I just binned it. I really don't think any of it was salvageable.

We do have the spare though that works fine. Perhaps they could clone this so we have a spare?

Do have a link for this on ebay?

    Thanks.
  • carefull cards on ebay cannot be reprogramed you need a virgin card from renault not an old pre used one that is only worth the plastic casings for spares and worth around £2.00. renault usually repragram 2 cards for the £140.00 odd pounds, both cards will be programed to the car and the third old spare will become obsolete, (hence why there a quite a few on ebay).

Good, at least you have an original to work from.

Now I think it was early in this post or it could have been another on the same topic, I pointed out that buying a keypad off ebay was a nono as they couldn't be reprogrammed. That was the case then but I/we were assured that someone had developed the technology to clone these from original to ebay bought.
It always happens eventually, sooner or later. The guy who posted this was a locksmith so I would expect it to be valid.

I haven't the details but I'm sure if you hang around a while or google, the details will emerge.
Don't let the dog chew the other one ;)
