Thank you for dropping in rexelpink and ramblehan. and for well wishing on the studying. Its a long hard slog so any kind thoughts are really motivational and helpful. Its going to fill my life for the next few months so need to throw myself at it!
I hope things feel better today rexelpink. And if you were able to sleep I hope sleeping on things helped. I think it sometimes feels like all the bad things happen together and its one thing after another. And sometimes its just outright unfair.
Met best friend for coffee earlier, was nice. been studying and pottering around at home.
Spent £6 on 2 coffees - my turn.
£1.50 on my book club book - oxfam book shop
£10.60 on fruit, bread, sausages at the market.
Having curry for tea. Then quiet day tommorow.
I am definitely going to do payment a day But I need to do this once I am out of the red in the overdraft. I also read about the toiletries thing and put mine all in the cupboard together so can see I have A LOT. This has helped feel a bit more organised.
Got the water bill today, going to pay it on payday. Its £114 felt a bit relieved when it arrived rather than just waiting for the bad news.
I cant believe how long this month has been. If feels like its been june for ever and payday is never going to come.2017- 5 credit cards plus loan
Overdraft And 1 credit card paid off.

This does feel like it has been the longest month ever.
My work is a nightmare for collections too, someone is always having a birthday, baby, getting engaged, married or retiring!
I only give to the people directly in my team & I am just going to stop with the charity ones, I cannot afford it - simples.
Do feel bad sometimes but when you see those documentaries & it tells you how much of that money actually goes to the charity I don't feel so bad.

Hi
I'm new to this budgeting and getting debt free. Following your diary with interest.
I too am a bit of a beauty treat addict. I love having my nails done every month. I have my hair cut/coloured every other 6 weeks but when I have a colour I walk out of the hairdressers with it wet - cheaper!
Good luck, you're doing so well0 -
Have enjoyed reading your diary, in work we have a member of staff assigned to do collections, if you say you only have a pound she will happily take and keep coming g back until she gets the alloted amount!Mum, wife and dinnerlady!0

Hello everyone. Thank you for dropping in.
I've been studying and thinking about these collections today. I feel im going to scale back, we recently had a collection for quite a well paid man (earning a fair whack more than me who i dont even like) homeowner who bought a long time ago close to london having a second baby. It annoyed me because a lot of the people being asked to contribute are a long way off from buying a house and some like me have a home and look ok but are probably living on credit card.
Annoyingly in my office a lot are funded by thier parents and get token jobs after university while thier parents pay london rent and bills for them. Never mind immigration, its these people taking the jobs from people that actually need them that annoy me. But what really winds me up is hearing these people say "im so relieved its payday". Like Honestly for goodness sake.
The charity thing I will have to ignore till I have debts under control. I agree with you Dolly I think they waste a good bit of the money they receive.
At end of june my loan goes down to £2300, mbna goes to £3,598, Sainsbury's goes to £3,150. I cant wait to see these go down. The overdraft and third credit card are variable, im hoping to make progress but its looking doubtful with everything that's coming up. It might just need a bit more time.2017- 5 credit cards plus loan
Overdraft And 1 credit card paid off.

Time is what it is gonna take.
I can feel myself getting to that impatient stage but I know it will pass. We are all gonna be here for a while, it takes time to sort out all this debt.
I am hoping to have it all gone my April 2017, this is an extension to my original plan of December 2016 & while I am still slightly annoyed at this it just is what it is.
I'm definitely reigning in the donations to charity or collections in work.
Maybe a bit selfish but by charity donations will come from charity shop purchases, got myself a pair of 20.00 shoes for 5.00 on Friday. 5.00 to charity but also a 15.00 saving to myself so while I am giving I am also benefiting & this is the way it is going to be from now on for me.
Make a decision in your mind then stick to it, who cares what other people think.

I get you PSL.
For two weddings recently the couples asked for money. Both mature relationships, minimum two incomes going into their households, 1-2 cars, property ownership (no mortgage) in one form or another.
Since we rent from the council & can't afford a car, they got a £10 Argos voucher each, and to be honest being asked for cash in those circumstances left a bad taste and we resented giving said voucher!0 -
If I like the person whose birthday/wedding/baby it is then I will give accordingly. If I don't I just put £2 in. I'm a single parent with 2 hungry kids and I just can't afford it.
My friend ran Race for Life and I really wanted to give her £5 but I stopped myself. All the £5 add up. Ive started saying no.0 -
Hi psl I work in a well paid office in London too and everyone there (including the 'funded by parents' recently graduated, members of the team I manage) are significantly better off then me.
I have started saying 'ooh I already give directly to that charity but I will happily put a token payment in for you of £1'
Putting spare change in a charity box counts as giving directly right???:rotfl:Staring debt - June 2013 - £21,000
