Well done on your new plan.

I hate the sales - it's all a load of rubbish. I don't think I've ever bought anything decent in the January sales.

Good idea from Verbatim - forget the sales and have a night in with your friend, food, drinks and a giggle

Thank you verbat, ramble and louby.

    102 days of loan.
    Low spend today.
    2 days to payday.
The thing is that I work in an office in central London and I will need a proper job interview outfit.

I do view this as essential as all the jobs movement will take place in the new year and I will need to up my game from usual waynetta slob to Karen Brady business woman. Unfortunately this will take money. But I take on board what you both are saying and AM VERY GRATEFUL that you take the time to help me.

The socialising will be cannedin January. I just don't have room and need to just cut it down to bare bones. Have started this theme in december. Only a little bit this month compared to previous years.

    12 days left to 2017.
    New Years resolutions in abundance
2017- 5 credit cards plus loan
Overdraft And 1 credit card paid off.

ooh perhaps we should all share our new years resolutions and help keep each other to them?
I definitely need the help (and the kick up the bum!) I really need some help getting our food spending under control.

    Hello -

Someone recommend you as we are in similar positions (except am based up North). I have set most of my bills for the week after pay day, just in case. I have a separate savings account (which I have named household expenses) and as soon as I get paid I transfer my entire amount for bills etc into it straight away, (sometimes even at 4 in the morning as I usually wake up around then for a bit).

I then either let the bills go out and transfer the money back each time or transfer it beforehand if it's its the same date each time. I have an app for the bank which is really easy to use and transfer money between accounts. I check it on a daily basis to make sure everything is in order.

I've also started to just have my weekly allowance in my main account, and then keeping the rest of the month's also in savings so I don't overspend and transferring the allowance each week.

Hope this helps and looking forward to following more posts!

    :)

My only New Years resolution is to get rid of my debt! It's gone by July! 2 credit cards and my loan.

Never using my credit card again unless I know I'm in a position to pay it off the following month!

Getting the last of the Christmas shopping today.
    98 days of loan left.

It's small steps but every year that I have worked in London I go to harrods in the run up to Christmas and buy discounted and full price premium make up. This year is first year that it didn't happen.

For anyone that has not been it is undeniably amazing. All my favourite make up brands and perfume in about 4 massive rooms. Lots of it heavily discounted and just beautiful. I will go next year. this year I have loads already and would have felt guilty but next year I am there!

Low spend yesterday. Bills go out next week. I am going to some sales next week but will spend sensibly and not just grab everything and it will be mostly work clothes and based on NEEDS, and what I already have.
Going to take some effort but I am super pleased with myself shunning harrods.

Now to see what today brings. Trying hard.

Happy Christmas to all who is here for the journey of failings and the loan countdown. :xmastree::xmastree:
