Oh my goodness. Thank you everybody for being so kind. It was a blip. I will be better.i feel very inspired to get there. And I will.
I am really fed up of battling my friends at the moment particularly the ones that have babies and say the classic "you find out who your friends are when you have a baby". Makes me so cross. I feel like saying Actually its not about you im trying to cut back on everything.
Feel so grouchy this evening. Just wish the world would leave me alone sometimes.
Spent 9.80 today. Milk, cheese, apricots, grapes, tomatoes, onions, crisps. Took lunch to work.
Happy with todays progress. Meeting friend tommorow evening at thier house then nothing planned till 16th so should be a good week. Xxxx2017- 5 credit cards plus loan

So happy for you!

Thank you Dolly. Its going to take everything I've got to not to touch the overdraft. Breaking the habit of a lifetime takes some doing. I reduced it to £500 but anything lower didn't feel comfortable. At the end of the day I have sole responsibility for paying my mortgage. I do not want to have to ask anyone for anything and I don't feel comfortable closing it altogether. I know I will have repossession nightmares and too much anxiety if I closed it.
This week I shouldn't need to spend any money until friday. Its a quiet week. Im not sure what is happening friday, possibly nothing but possibly my friends are getting together. If I can give it a miss I will but im not sure yet.
Spent £10 in lidl today but got quite a lot for that so feeling quite positive. This week Eating things in the freezer, making a spaghetti bolognese, got 2 pizza bases from Lidl and 1 night at my mums so should be fed well for the week and next week too.
Its 16 days to payday which feels like forever. Once I get paid going to take whatever is in my bank account plus £50 and put on my.non-0% credit card.
Its my friends birthday in august which is important but all other non-essential social occasions I will miss and will be studying. So far that's not gone down well with everyone but im not budging. My parents continue to understand and love me and have been amazing recently. If everyone could match this support level it would be a lot easier but the world does not seem to understand the concept that a person with a job and no kids can not afford something. I feel like im having the same conversation on loop and its exhausting. I wish people would try and understand.
In a strange way I feel a lot closer to my mum recently talking through how hard money is. They struggled for years and I know she doesn't want that for me but she has given me a lot of advice because she lived it day in day out. She didn't work because they kept having babies! She knows just enough about my situation to be able to help and support and hasn't judged me at all. She has supported all my money saving decisions and has completely understood. Makes me feel like I am doing the right thing completely. Xxxx2017- 5 credit cards plus loan

Keep it for now, when you are comfortable just get rid of it.
Work up to have savings for the same amount as the OD then when you do cancel the OD but you will still have the 500.00 buffer in savings instead.
Aw that's nice you are feeling closer with your Mum.
I wouldn't dare tell my Mum how much debt we got into just being silly & with nothing really to show for it, she was a single mum of 4 kids never had any debt so I feel like she would go mad at me!
She know's we have debts just not how much or anything like that.
I just know she would worry too much about it so will only tell her when we are debt free!

On no we haven't done figures at all because it would be horrific. She can never know. I think she thinks I have around £2500 to pay and earn around £250 less per month.
Your mum sounds like mine- they didn't get a credit card till they went aboard when they were about 45 and then they barely used it and cancelled it after their holiday. They never went into debt and its an alien concept. I can hear my mum saying "what do you mean £15,000!" "what have you been doing"and "how did you get into such a state". Hmmm yes mother agreed!
It can never happen. She just knows the tip of the ice berg and that's enough. I need to sort it but If I didnt have my independence and privacy i would not cope. Xxxx2017- 5 credit cards plus loan

You will.
We both will.
It will come with time, it took time to get into this financial state, it will take time to get out of it.
We are all here in the same little rubber dinghy.
