Chinese Phone Advice

My last 4 phones have all come from China currently using a Elephone p9000 LTE and a Timmy (bought only because it has Timmy written on the back....it is rubbish otherwise under powered and no storage to speak of!)
P9000 great although the biggest bug with me is it is not true dual sim as it makes you choose between dual sim or one sim and a Micro SD card.
The only difference between the full blown p9000 and the lite version is fingerprint and wireless charging if you don't need these don't bother with the more expensive version.
Main problem with Gearbest and its other site dealsmachine is customer service and returns. Customer service is poor and you pay for any returns.
Don't bother with the case for the elephone it has a whacking great hole in it and will not protect the screen one little bit.I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0 -
Appreciate the input so far. Dont think id be buying straight from china. More like a chinese phone but through Amazon. Battery is important and the ability to pick up a good signal. Ideally would be able to download apps on play store just like current phone (sony z3 compact). Thinking at the moment its between cubot h2 and ulefone. Unless otherwise directed.0

Go for the wooden backed one from the EU warehouse, should arrive in a week and no risk of customs taxes.http://www.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_288826.html?wid=3http://gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_230567.html

I am using the Ulefone Power that I got from Amazon after dropping my LG G4. I totally love it as I Never have to worry about the battery running out on me.
It does everything I need it to do and I have updated it to MM.0 -
I've had a couple of Cubot phones and they've been great. They are not the latest tech or styling but they've always worked well.
My latest is a Cubot Dinosaur 3gb ram 16gb and it cost me £80 + shipping off aliexpress. 5.5" screen. Works perfect for me as I'm not a heavy user. Much better than the HTC Desire I used while waiting for the new phone to arrive.
Wife has one too it's bomb proof been dropped several times etc. and still going strong.
Been looking at Xiaomi Mii or a Redmi Note 3 Pro as a xmas pressie for my wife - any body got any opinions on these phones?

Xiaomil look the best of the bunch at the moment.
Depends on what spec and screen size you want/need?
The Mi Max has been getting great reviews, but as it's a 6.4 inch screen it's not for everyone.
The Mi Mix is amazing, but very pricey for a Xiaomi and has major issues if you ever drop it due to the bezel less design. But they've got a 6.4 inch screen into a body that normally holds a 5.7 inch.
The Note 2 is also looking really good.0 -
thanks,
Think I'm gonna go with the Redmi note 3 pro as it's been updated with a snapdragon cpu and I can get it for under £200.
The mi mix is just too much for me to spend tbh. Specs wise tho it looks awesome and a match for anything at the moment.

Go for the international version with b20 or 800mhz band as this will be fully compatible with all UK networks.
