Windows 7 updates and Microsoft cyberbullying

I've reformatted about a half dozen computers in the last month - the obvious reason - the cyberbullying of microsht.
What I have noticed is that (Windows 7) Windows Update hasn't worked properly after any of them. The updates eventually kick in after a few days.
I have also noticed that the Windows Update process gets stuck in a loop in the background and grinds down Ram resources. Again, this clears when the updates start coming down.
Is this deliberate, incompetence or deliberate incompetence by microsoft?

I've wondered the same myself, after having to faff around with many W7 machines in the same boat.... it really is about time ms did a proper fix for this ......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
If you are installing win 7 SP1 then get the roll up package that MS have just released. A sort of SP2 in all but name. It brings it up the April updates I believe0

Yes, having the same issues with our Win 7 machines. I'm in the conspiracy theory camp and believe MS are doing this deliberately.... DaveHappily retired and enjoying my 14th year of leisureI am cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.Bring me sunshine in your smile0

this has been the first positive step for a very long while, I have them but not tried them as yet..........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

I'm in the conspiracy theory camp and believe MS are doing this deliberately.
Conspiracy theories usually rely on unsubstantiated claims when, in fact, there are simpler, more likely explanations.
However, this has been such a widespread problem for many months and seems to have been introduced around the same time (or shortly after) Windows 10 was released.
I can't think of any sensible explanation (even sheer incompetence) other than MS are deliberately trying to cripple people's machines in an attempt to bully them into using Windows 10. It's an absolute farce.0 -
I've not noticed any difference since Windows 10 was released, I've never found Windows 7 to be very good when handling a large number of updates after being initially built which made it all the more frustrating they didn't offer roll up packs which they've finally got around to.

I'd like to add a comment as I'm one of those who had a thread about slow Win 7 updates.
A couple of weeks back I thought I'd better fire up my standby XP and Win 7 machines to let them update, neither had been updated for a couple of months.
The XP synced with Dropbox and then immediately informed me of updates available, i.e MSRT.
The Win 7 machine took over an hour to inform me of updates.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
Sigh. Yet again, Windows Update failed to notify me of available updates (I just saw them by checking manually).
And for about the TENTH TIME, KB3035583 (the "get Windows 10" update) has unhidden itself. I could understand if this happened once when it was reclassified from an "optional" update to a "recommended" one, but this is just getting ridiculous.
(Yes, I know I could install third-party software to block KB3035583 et al, if I wanted.)0 -
This might help:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/3102810
Hiding KB3035583 does no good, it just comes back again, keep an eye out for it and just keep hiding it before you click out of WU. Microshaft are determined to get us all on 10.
Download GWX Control Panel and block it: http://ultimateoutsider.com/downloads/
Others have had success with never10:
https://www.grc.com/never10.htm
I use GWX Control Panel, but have not used never10, so cannot recommend ot.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

I spent a while with registry updates and other configurations to block the GWX from getting onto my machine but each time I seemed to get it working, a couple of weeks later GWX would bulldoze through all of that and start trying to install Windows 10 again. While it's absolutely ridiculous having to install third party software to block Windows 10, it's quick and effective and particularly handy for other people's machines.
