Sat 28th/Sun 29th/Mon 30th May - What small DFW things will you do this BH weekend?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Good morning all :hello: and happy bank holiday weekend.
I have to be honest - my time doesn't really start until tomorrow afternoon. Today and tomorrow morning is all about getting the kids to various clubs and competitions. I hope I manage to survive.
Here's today's list:
 check banking and PAD
 get ds to football training
 get ds to gymnastics class
 get dd to a cheerleading competition
 go and do a bit of grocery shopping
 try and find time for crochet
 try and remain calm
 do a bit of mindfulness work to stop me having a meltdown
Hopefully see you on the other side later tonight folks :cool:Not giving up

Morning cat and thanks for starting the thread

Yesterday I typed out a post then lost it so couldn't be bothered to write it again! Thanks for your encouragement on Thursday. I was offered the job :T just have to wait for my references and dbs to come through before I start. It is part time (18.75 hrs pw) so I'm not going to have much money after my contribution to the household, but at least I'll be keeping my hand in my profession, and it will give me time with dgd and start her at preschool in our village in September to get her ready for school, and also explore doing the masters  oh and I had a discussion and he agrees this is a good step and accepts for the next couple of years we'll have less money than we used to. Such a relief just hope this is a better fit of an organisation for me than over the last few years...
Anyway enough rambling! We're going to a festival today so have a lot of things to do this morning!
A load of washing in the machine at the moment and will hang it on the dryer before we leave
Pack up food to take with us - we'll get something to eat for. Our tea at the festival but rest of the food we'll take with us
Stop at Aldi's on the way to pick up a couple of bits (me and dgd are going away on a caravan holiday on Monday with the kinship carers network so need to try to be ready for that! When we get back tomorrow I need to make a cake and chilli for a bring and share evening as well as pack )
Pack up car with camping stuff
Checked banking
Ok think that's as much on the Dfw front as is going to get done
, better get my skates on!DF as at 30/12/16

Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!0 -

Hi everyone
Quiet little thread today - hope everyone is having a good bank holiday.
Ours hasn't really come to much - we were hoping to visit the in laws but they said we couldn't take the dog as they would've had to dog sit for a couple of hours while OH was working (as I wouldn't get over there for a couple of hours) so I couldn't go in the end. Bit rubbish really but trying to make the most of my night home alone.
Watching net flix, eating half price pizza and drinking @ldi rum and pepsi (free bottle I got from work)
Sold two books today - £9
Got 30% off code for a yoga retreat I might go on in Sept
Catch up soon everyone :beer:0 -
Still hanging on in there
I've done everything as planned and still alive - now just got to wait for dd to get back to me to let me know when to pick her up from the competition. Then another hectic day to get through tomorrow before I can finally start enjoying a rest.
DNMS - congrats on getting the job :j I'm thrilled for you. Hope you've enjoyed the festival.
