Text Message (SMS) Realtime Banking

Hi MSE
I use HSBC for my current account.
When I am in the RED they send me a text message (SMS) warning me that my account is descending into further debt (and details of the transaction that is responsible for this downward path)
I love this feature! But it only comes into play when I am DEBT.
Does anyone know of a UK bank that will send text messages for EACH and EVERY transaction I make?
I'm aware that in this modern era of banking "apps" this sort of thing is common... but i really just like my Nokia brick phone and text messages. (Thank you)
(I'm happy to pay for the text messages)

I don't know of any bank which sends an SMS for each transaction but HSBC can send you other text messages as well - not just when you are overdrawn - see their user guide at http://www.hsbc.co.uk/1/PA_esf-ca-app-content/content/pws/content/personal/pdfs/text-banking-user-guide.pdf0

Santander will do it for high value transactions, where IIRC 'high value' is £50 or greater.Stompa0

Not for each and every transaction, but with Natwest you can set up to receive a text when your account balance gets down to whatever figure you want.I have mine set at something like £150,meaning I am always reminded to keep balance above the level needed to cover my most expensive monthly DD,if ever it looked like it was going to fall too low to cover this.
I think I have even had notification telling me that I had until (something like) 3.30pm to top up account if I was to avoid going into the red.SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

HSBC can send you texts regarding transactions > £25.

Assuming this is like First Direct it is not real time. With FD I tend to get messages about the previous days' transactions at around 8 a.m. the next day. I pay nothing for this service.0 -

Perhaps it varies according to the specific account? The 123 current account won't let you enter £1, it says:
Alert me when a large deposit is made into my account. You can enter any amount between £100.00 and £100,000.00. You must only enter numbers.
Alert me when a high value debit occurs on my account. You can enter any amount between £50.00 and £100,000.00. You must only enter numbers.

Just setup the HSBC text banking (sms alerts) service using Internet Banking web chat. Customer support was very supportive.
You can also setup by phone or at Branch. Aside from the t&c's there is also a user guide here.
BTW. You would never need to reply to one of these sms messages (you should know what to do if you receive one asking for your login info/password etc).
Can anyone tell me how long it takes for the welcome sms to arrive?, I was told it can take up to 2 days.
p.s. the info on this thread is still relevant now, so I'm replying, rather than start a new thread.0
