I'm flattered that you noticed. I may start using this as my catchphrase.OceanSound wrote: »Didn't you say the same on a different thread:
I am a control addict and proud of it. There is only one person that I trust to put my own interests first and that is me.
I see no merit in relying on others when you are fully able to achieve the same outcome yourself by being proactive.0 -
This discussion is about banks sending text messages. Why do you equate my comment with corporate IT failings?OceanSound wrote: »IT meltdowns for months on end. Visa card system going berserk over weekends. Credit rating agency IT systems with millions of customer data compromised....Are these my responsibility too?0 -

They keep saying 'in the near future'.
The way I see it 'I shouldn't have to faff around with entering the password each time, when I know some apple user (who loves his iphone too much), is logging-in without breaking in to a sweat.
I can understand principle - I have a whole series of individual boycotts which no-one but me understands or cares about.
I don't have a fingerprint scanner, and dislike apple products, so this one completely passes me by.
I have about 6 banking apps on my phone, and take an interest in their ease of use and their functionality. I only use HSBC to the extent that I need to to maintain the account and the regular saver. So it isn't a main bank account, but I'm happy with it.0 -

You will be pleased to know that the latest update to the HSBC UK android app has introduced fingerprint login for compatible devices.0 -

hsbc android app has a 'fast balance' feature, which you can use without faffing around with logging in.
p.s. At the moment my android app doesn't show the keyboard at the 'enter password' screen, so having to type character elsewhere (notepad/calendar) copy the character, then paste it on to HSBC app. Probably not the most secure way to login. So, will just be sticking to 'fast balance' until fingerprint login is released (to use full features of app).0
