No Contactless Card on Lloyds Bank Basic Account

Contactless cards are issued for the benefit of the retailer to speed up transaction times not the cardholder. If you haven't got the time to enter a four digit PIN number then you have serious time management issues !
PIN numbers are purely for the benefit of the bank so they can prove you authorised a transaction if you claim it was fraudulent.
So what's the point in always using a PIN if the bank say you don't have to.
As has been discussed before the benefit of contactless isn't the seconds you save on most transactions.
Things like buses and the underground in London where people can flow through quickly due to contactless is a real benefit and removes the need for an extra card and topping it up.
Being able to pay with phones and other devices is one of the biggest benefits for the majority of people.
These are obviously not revolutionary benefits but a small step in improving payments. But I see no logical reason to resist it.0
